Tree Bound Illustration, Book Design The design challenge for this project was to create a children’s book that will teach children about the importance of sustaining the environement. This is meant to be a way to inspire children, but also give them an entertaining story. The solution for this project was to create a book that encompasses design of classic storybooks. Using nostalgic typography and templates that follow an emphasis on the images, the audience will actively engage in the illustrations. While keeping the illustrations realisitic, but adding human qualities, children will be able to relate to these animals with ease. The colors are kept earthy throughout the illustrations to emphasize the connection to the earth and nature.

Sweet Magic Illustration, Packaging, Branding The design challenge for this project was to create a brand that utilizes a variety of packaging. The solution was to create a candy brand for children aged between 7 and 13. These candies incorporate illustration and contain collectible flip books unique to each packaging. The variety will entice children to get all of the different flavors. The logo is whimiscal to match the story-book illustration style. A cloud is utilized to give off the dreamy aesthetic. Each of the packaging contains a different flavor and different illustration. The flower top to the packaging adds to the whismical design. The color scheme is light pastel colors to keep the packaging friendly.

14 colors Illustration, Packaging, Branding The challenge for this project was to create a brand that goes against minimalistic makeup styles for a more expressive and colorful style. This brand encompasses different mythical creatures as a form of inspiration for each makeup pallette. Each eyeshadow pallette contains 14 vibrant shades of its themed color. Affordable and unique, this brand aims toward bringing out the individuality in young adults. The logo was created to be modern and clean to emphasize the bold nature of the products. Within each packaging, there is a tutorial for an eye-look using the palette. If needed, the customer has the option to scan the QR code to view a video tutorial.

Creepy Crawlers Illustration, Typeface, Packaging This project involves creating a unique typeface and advertising for a movie event. The solution was to create a typeface that encompasses spider webs to give a spooky aesthetic. This typeface will be applied with other illustrated elements to create posters, tickets, and packaging. Partnered with Baskerville, the old and creepy look gives the event the perfect design. This event is a horror movie film festival that is geared towards showing young adults classic horror films. The color scheme chosen is black, white, and red to communicate that this event is creepy.

The Visible Invisible Illustration, Book Design This project involves creating a type specimen book to showcase Versailles. The solution was to design an illustrative book with mimes to display this typeface in an exiciting way. With this book, posters showcasing different family members are presented and advertised on posters and billboards. These posters are also designed using mime aesthetics of stripes and follows the color scheme of black, white, and red. This grabs the interest of a young designer while showing how the type can be used and displayed in design.

For the solution, an app was designed to teach kids 1013 about practicing sustainable living and how to take care of their own garden. Throughout the app the audience learns how to take care of certain plants and how plants are affected by the seasons. The design is whimisical and illustrated to appeal to the young audience. The color scheme is consistent throughout the app to unify it. Following this app, there is also an animated commercial that advertises and showcases some of the abilities of the app.

Hivemind stop-motion

Bug Shorts Illustration, Motion Graphics This project involves a collection of animated shorts that compare the acrions of bugs to humans to bring attention to human actions. The different actions that are commented on are hivemind, war, and courtship. The use of stop-motion illustration is contrasted with the videos underneath which forces the viewer to compare the two clips. Each clip is tinted a color to convey the message of the video more clearly. For example, the war video is overlayed with red to exhibit the rage and intensity of the people as well as relating the clip to the ants included in the stop-motion played over.
