PROFILE I am a Landscape Architect MSc graduate of Copenhagen University LIFE. I am hardworking and ambitious and I have a strong interest in the subject. I have work experience from my internship at a landscape architect office in Oslo and alongside my studies I have participated in several competitions, one of which I won. Throughout my studies I have particularly emphasized graphic tools and technology in my choice of courses and work. I believe in optimizing spaces to awaken senses and impressions with a human, aesthetic, economic and sustainable perspective.

Sensory Change / Sanselig forandring
(Master thesis 2013, University of Copenhagen)
A study of the concept of seasons in urban spaces with Arbeidersamfunnets plass in Oslo as a case study. In recent years there are many examples of landscape architects proposals on the future of urban spaces pointing to the advantages of users being able to follow the seasons. Seasonal activities such as concerts and flea markets or changing vegetation could be ways in which to do this. However, the seasonal activities only generate experiences for short periods of time as concerts are not scheduled everyday and vegetation only has a short period of flowering. In nature the change of seasons is often very obvious because of the changes in vegetation, climate, light and passability. This thesis examines whether it is possible to implement some of these sensory elements in the design of urban spaces in order for the seasonal changes to become more visible in the city. Arbeidersamfunnets Plass in Oslo is the case area and the proposal, THE CHANGE / FORANDRINGEN, emphasizes the changes in seasons by presenting a new form through spatial effects that highligts the climate, precipitation, vegetation, passability and light.

The surroundings of Oslo has been a big source of inspiration for the proposal. How can we create spaces in the city that awakens senses and make us reflect on the urban spaces we pas in our bussy everyday life?

MODELWORK
The small waterponds creates new routes and spaces when they are filled up.
The final model. The snow creates new spaces in wintertime.
A DETOUR
The design of the square changes during the seasons because of the different seasonal elements. The elements creates new spaces and sometimes new pathways.
CONCEPT Water
The water draining direction is used in the design of the new square.
Rainwater harvesting A new terrain creates small pockets for rainwater that is collected in a big stormwater basin at the end of the square.
Pathways
The pathways changes during the seasons.
Urban landscape
In concrete the square creates a new urban landscape with small spaces in the space.
The edge Primary pathway. Always accesible Sekundary pathways. Accesible in some seasons.
The edge of the asphalt creates a border to the surrounding city. The sharp lines is a reference to the norwegian mountians.

AUTUMN
Precipitation
The square has small pockets for rainwater and melting snow. The concept works with “everyday” rainfall, therefor the pockets are small to create a quick effect on the urban space.
Rainfall
An average day in october has 15,5 mm rainfall. The expected water ammount in the square will be 13,87 m3. The “pockets” have a capacity of 13.01 m3 water and the big water bassin in the end of the square has a capacity of 15.1 m3. An over avareage rainfall at 50 mm, will create 44,7 m3 water in the square. The maximum capacity of the proposal is 28,11 m3 water but because of the evaporation and the plant beds leaching effect the square can meets the requirements for local stormwater management in Oslo.

When the snow starts to melt and it is getting brighter, people start to look for the first signs of spring. The small linear cracks in the pavement is not that visible in the other seasons, but when the Othocallis siberica blooms the expression of the square changes.
The small blue carpets of spring flowers creates new routes across the square between the flowering Prunus Avium trees. Russeblåstjerne Othocallis siberica

A transformation of a military airport in D端bendorf, Schwitzerland. The project area is a military airport in a village called D端bendorf near Zurich, Schwitzerland. The site will undergo a big transformation with new housing developments and new commercial, industrial and recreational areas. It was important to highlight how we could create an interaction between nature and urban areas and how it was possible to create a connection between the new area and the existing D端bendorf village.

An analysis of Albertslund (suburb west of Copenhagen, Denmark) as an example of typical Danish welfare planning of the 1960’s and 70’s.
Albertslund
English, group and individual
(Theory and method 2012, University of Copenhagen)
The focus of the assignment was analysing and understanding Albertslund as an example of typical Danish welfare planning of the 1960’s and 70’s. The planners wanted to create a new modern city with dense buildings and a good infrastructure. A segregated path system for bikes and pedestrians was created as part of the Welfare city to protect the vulnerable trafficants from heavy traffic. To understand the site we used historical maps, literature about Albertslund, as well as our own observations. How can the spatial qualities of the site be understood?

Strategy
Tactics
By using theory of theorist Michel de Certeau in ‘The practice of everyday life”, it is possible to consider and further understand the qualities of the segregated system and how pedestrians fit into the intended design
The strategic dominance of the surrounding design makes it hard for pedestrians in Roholmparken to engage in tactical activities when leaving the park. Strong barriers obstruct this from happening

The segregated path system prevents interaction between people, and the path system may feel insecure at night.
It is formed from the belief that conditions are improved for all users, both in terms of safety and functionality. An observation is that pedestrians and cyclist often have to take indirect routes between locations when following the path system.

An open idea competition on the new Town Hall Square in Copenhagen in relation to the new metrostation. The new metrostation at the Town Hall Square will be one of the most central stations in Copenhagen. For many tourists it will be the first meeting with the Danish capital. The proposal emphasizes that Copenhagen municipality should send a clear signal of an innovative and green city.
HUMAN SCALE The square is surrounded by tall historical buildings and this creates a unique atmosphere. The new building “Industriens Hus” draw attention to the human scale with its large vertical surfaces.
