PACK 127 UPCOMING EVENTS MAY 21, 2011  Thursday, May 26 4 pm Memorial Day Ft. Knox Cemetery Ft. Knox Cemetery right off the main gate. Ft. Knox Scouts will be placing flags.

 Monday, May 30th 9am Memerial Day Parade Pritchard Community Center Parade route will leave Pritchard Community Center going North on Mulberry, left at City Hall on 31W, then right at North Miles at St. James Church to the Legion Park. Parade will start at 10 am and it will take about half hour to get to the destination. Remember to wear your uniforms, we will be carrying our Pack Flag and American Flag.

 Saturday, June 4th 10 am Squire Boone Cavern (only Webelos)

Boy Scouts and Webelos can complete the requirements for their Geology and Forestry Badge. $15 per Scout $8 per child not in class (non Scout cannot attend the class) $12 per adult. Price includes class for the Scout, panning for gold, guided Cavern tour and access to the Village. Pre registration required, classes already filling up. To register call 888 934 1804 (please let them know that you are joining Pack 127 with Mrs. Kathy Cook.) Website: www.squireboonecaverns.com Parents can view the facility while Scouts are in the class but you are more than welcome to join them.

 Saturday, June 18 Knox Hills Splash into Summer Recruitment at Keyes Park

At the Knox Hills Splash into Summer, we will have all the Boy Scout and Cub Scout units out there to help promote Scouting on Fort Knox. Lincoln Trails District is coordinating the use of the BSA bouncy house. Pack 127 will have a table with Pack information and applications. We will be splashing into summer with a Raingutter Regatta Race. PARENTS: Please begin working on boats now for the Regatta. Kits can be purchased at the Scout Shop. THIS WILL BE OUR JUNE PACK EVENT. If we have at least 50% participation, we can earn the summertime pack award. Remember to wear your uniform.

 Webelos Resident CAMP

Session 2: June 26-29 Session 3: June 30-July 3 Session 4: July 7-10 Session 5: July 14-17

You are eligible to attend Webelos Resident Camp 2011 if you are a Webelos I (Starting 4th grade Fall 2011) or Webelos II (Starting 5th grade Fall 2011).


PACK 127 UPCOMING EVENTS

Webelos Resident Camp is held at the Tunnel Mill Reservation (TMR) in Charlestown, Indiana $ 125 per Cub/$ 90 per adult. Payment is due with application at least 14 days prior to your camp date. No walk-ins allowed. For more information please ask your Den Leader/Cubmaster or log onto the website.

 Monday-Friday July 11-15 Cub Scout Day Camp Freeman Lake in Elizabethtown, Ky, 8am-4pm $ 80 per Scout. Adults do not pay a fee. A late fee of $20 will be added if turned in less than 3 weeks from camp date. All registered Cub Scouts going into the 1st thru 5th grades by the fall of 2011 are invited. LIL’ BUDDY = Children of Adult Staff/Volunteers. Children who are 11 and over, registered Scouts can Requirements: Parents must be at camp for serve as helpers in program areas. Under age 11 they Lil’ Buddy to attend. have to be a part of the Lil’ Buddy program. All Lil’ Buddies MUST BE potty trained!!! Children who come to camp with an adult COST: $20 (Includes Shirt and Program) Staff/Volunteer have to stay in the Lil’Buddy Area there are NO exceptions. THIS WILL BE OUR JULY PACK EVENT.  Cub Resident Camp Tunnel Mill Reservation (TMR) in Charlestown, Indiana Session 1: July 22-24 Session 2: July 29-31

$120 parent-son team additional age boy is $70; Additional adult is $50; late fee of $10 after July 1 You are eligible to attend Cub Resident Camp 2011 if you will be a Wolf (Starting 2nd grade Fall 2011) or Bear (Starting 3rd grade Fall 2011). For those families that have two or more children that are in the appropriate grades (i.e. twin boys who will be Wolves or Bears in Fall 2011 or one son who will be a Wolf and one son who will be a Bear in Fall 2011), the cost for the additional Scout is $70. Simply fill out an additional application for the other Scout. Only one parent has to attend, but both are welcome. For an additional adult to attend with a parent/child team, the cost is $50 for each additional adult. Have the adult fill out an additional application with just the adult's information and the Scout's name.

Online registrations for the all the summer camps: www.lhcbsa.org August pack event to be determined ......Contact your leader for den activities!!! A pack can qualify for the National Summertime Pack Award by planning and conducting three pack activities - one each in June, July, and August. This award can be an incentive for greater attendance at your summer pack activities. Individual scouts that participate in all three pack events can receive the National Summertime Pack Award pin. Starting in 2008, there is a different color pin for each Cub Scout rank so earning the pin each year has more incentive. Qualifying packs receive a colorful streamer for their pack flag. Dens with an average attendance of at least half their members at the three summer pack events will be eligible for a colorful den participation ribbon.
