NEW URBAN SQUARE
BUILDING FORM Raising the building up on a solid base, that is permeable and flexible (much like railway arches) should ensure that the building is adaptable for future needs. the function of the units can be constantly changing, whilst the building functions above. Looking at historic block structure, the main open spaces and circulation will be in the ‘back court’ which can have more height without over powering the street. On the street facades, the building will be lower, and block out to continue the street elevationa and create enclosure and rythm.
