Comment on UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

Comment on the United Nations, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, IPCC Eric Jelinski Farmer, degrees in mechanical, chemical-nuclear engineering, university lecturer in nuclear energy, contracts manager for Ontario Power Generation - Nuclear November 16, 2019 I find the IPCC irrelevant, total waste of time and money. They are scientists each in their own silo, and therefore they should not be called scientists. Real scientists would start with an open mind and apply scientific principles and methods. E.g. having model predictions that are grossly divergent from each other and also divergent from data is in my opinion sufficient justification to shut down that entire organization ASAP. Having spent some 40 years as a nuclear engineer/manager/university instructor, I am very familiar with the basis for performance assessments and making decisions on what program needs to be stopped or modified or advanced. It is obvious, IPCC has no accountability, is not accountable to anybody. Nobody in any government at any level is taking accountability to shut down the IPCC, save except President Trump, and that we see is a very arduous political battle. Why is this not a simple technical decision? This link is from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food that among other things tracks the degree-days during the growing season. (you need to scroll about halfway first) If you match this up with geography, the counties of Essex, Chatham-Kent and Norfolk along the north shore of Lake Erie show little change. Further north and inland from Lake Erie, Wellington , Peterborough, Simcoe, and Sudbury were noticeably cooler this summer. The County of Durham is very noticeably cooler although on the north shore of Lake Ontario. A salient factor between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario is that Lake Erie is a rather shallow lake compared to Lake Ontario having a much larger thermal mass of colder water, that IMO affected the local climate. I won’t comment on the precipitation differences other than to say that perhaps prevailing wind directions may have shifted (I have no data on that). However, the sun’s output does vary, and can vary from one day to the next, and as mentioned here by NASA, the sun determines climate. See here. If increasing CO2 levels are the cause of supposed warming…. The evidence is not there this year, not in southern Ontario where I live. What can I say? Choosing your climate model is the same as choosing your delusion or choosing your cool aide. See here. I propose that the debate about climate has nothing to do with climate but all to do with taxes aka redistribution of wealth from those who work for a living to those who won’t 1

work or feel they can get by on the sweat of others, and most importantly who will be the king to control this redistribution of wealth. Addendum: Canada has a beautiful climate and great economy. Stopping use of fossil fuels and nuclear power would destroy modern living and accomplish nothing good.
