Has America seen its finest hour?

Opposition to fossil fuels by Governors Roy Romer and Jared Polis of Colorado are graphic examples of what is going on from Los Angeles to Denver to New York City and from Atlanta to Chicago to Seattle.

America was great in part because it had access to plentiful energy from coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear power. It had a well written Constitution with rules for creating Amendments. It had three functioning branches of government. It protected inalienable rights to freedom, private property and justice for all.

Today, Bill Gates, John Kerry, John Holdren, Thomas Cochran, James Hansen, Michael Mann, Bill McKibben, Al Gore, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, Greenpeace, Natural Resources Defense Council, Sierra Club, World Economic Forum, Pope Francis and their networks around the world are determined to destroy the global economy by forcing fossil fuels to be left in the ground, closing coal fired and natural gas electric generating plants, stopping the use of internal combustion engine powered cars, trucks, ships and planes.

- Stop gas heating and cooking.

- Pretend that the world can run on electric cars, trucks, airplanes, ships and military vehicles powered by intermittent, variable electricity from wind turbines and photo-voltaic solar panels.

- Pretend that agriculture will be powered by mules, oxen and water buffalo and fertilized by animal urine and manure.

- Pretend that highways will be made of cobblestones or plain dirt.

- Pretend that people's homes will be log cabins and the wealthy can live in stone castles.

- Pretend that the world can get by without computers, the Internet and cellphones.

- Pretend that medicine will go back to herbs and blood sucking leeches.

- Pretend that entertainment for simple folks will be science fiction like gladiators and lions eating protestors.

- Pretend that new Inquisitions will be the justice system with torture racks and executions.

- Command the public to bow to hats of evil rulers stuck on poles in the town squares. Pretend that there will never again be another William Tell.

The United States government is broken and the American economy is falling apart.

Let the government solve everything using more Inflation Reduction Acts.
