Media people need to do critical thinking, that means critical journalism.

Critical journalism means asking many questions instead of treating political voices as truth, ie. propaganda.
Be aware that some politicians will create artificial divides in order to create voting blocks. Therefore the need for critical journalism.
I became aware of the phobias as I progressed into university engineering studies in the early 1970’s, my thermodynamics professor was advocating solar, wind power and a hydrogen economy. I realized back then this was only a dream, and I instead studied nuclear engineering and have worked in the nuclear industry for over 40 years, even today I teach math and science in high school grades 9 thru 12.
A video worth watching is;

“The History of Earth - How Our Planet Formed - Full Documentary HD”
In the beginning, the earth's atmosphere was nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Nitrogen contributed to the formation of life as a molecule of all DNA that governs the replication of cells, and reproduction of plants and animals. Carbon dioxide was converted into oxygen initially by anaerobic bacteria, and eventually developed today as the key ingredient for growing plants using sunlight and the process of photosynthesis. The carbon atom is central to all life, eg, viruses, bacteria, fungi, plants and
animals.
There is no other atom that is so central to life.
The CO2 in the atmosphere, and also, CO2 dissolved in oceans is the foundation for all life on earth, on land, in lakes and oceans.
We should not be afraid of the CO2 emitted today, because the CO2 arises from ancient sunshine that turned early vegetation into coal and early animal life including plankton from life in oceans into oil and gas during millions of years of movement of earth’s plates.
By denying ourselves the benefits of coal, oil, and gas is self flagellation. The carbon taxes in Canada are de facto a self imposed tariff.
With the Trump administration about to impose tariffs on Canada, the antidote needs to be to eliminate the carbon taxes.
However the Canadian government is currently tied to its 10 year old ideology of anti-carbon, enforced with carbon taxes, causing hardship to citizens.
Another example: The German Energiewende has failed with the shutdown of nuclear plants, resulting in the use of coal and importing gas from Russia.
Wind power and solar power are proven expensive and not dependable. The future is still coal, oil and gas where nuclear is not yet available.
We should not be afraid of nuclear power, the TMI and Chernobyl accidents were self-inflicted by human error in design and operation.
Media can do much to prevent human errors in journalism by sticking to facts.
