An example of one such property is Tresithney, situated in the heart of Rock. Its wonderfully relaxed, colourful interiors were created by Interior Designer Felicia Foreman: “When I first designed the interiors of the property it had been empty for some time and was really just a fantastic blank canvas. Although the architecture is very contemporary, we didn’t want the interiors to be too stark and modern – they needed to feel very comfortable and relaxed, so that guests could really feel at home as soon as they walked in.”

Felicia wanted the house to have lots of personality but also be easy to maintain, which is why she chose a neutral backdrop – the colour and fun comes from the furnishings and art. There is a subtle design thread running throughout the house rather than an obvious blue and white coastal scheme. Each room flows seamlessly to the next and has influences drawn from around the local area – the sea and sand, the colours of local wildflowers, beautiful orange Cornish sunsets, sorbet colours, Cornish slate and white washed oak.

“Working with Terry Harris & Sons, we added the new games room extension which has an incredible crashing wave effect on the feature wall, created from polished plaster by local artisan Lucido Designs. The extra space has added another dimension to the property, creating a relaxed entertaining space for the evenings, or for when Cornish weather isn’t quite so sunny!”

One of Shore Stays flagship properties, Tresithney (sleeping ten across five bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms) really has something for everyone, with plenty of space to either watch a movie in the cinema room, play table tennis or pool, or simply relax on the balcony reading a book overlooking the pool and garden.
