Welcome

“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”

— Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina

Spring is springing around us!

It is that special time in Washington – the cherry blossoms are in bloom, the weather (for the most part) is cooperating bringing us warmer days, brilliant sunshine radiates across our national monuments and memorials. Washingtonians walk with lighter steps – largely due to casting off the battery of winter coats, scarves, gloves, and hats. Birdsong echoes throughout our streets. It is a wonderful time to be in the DMV. It’s spring!

Spring is the time that homeowners throughout our area are planning and tackling renovation projects. Now that that aforementioned cooperating weather is here, they are much easier to consider and implement. In this issue of John Eric Home, we are tackling home renovation projects as well, showcasing everything that you need to know to successfully complete your own!

In this issue’s pages, you will find tips on everything from how to upgrade your laundry room to how to fully remodel your kitchen. Ideas for what to do with your bonus room and the trending tech in the kitchen space. Want to know how the American home is transitioning? Or how to convert your garage? Or what a smart lightbulb is? Read it here. A member of our team, Colette Bryan, shares her onthe-ground story of a recently undertaken bathroom renovation, while I have also written a feature sharing my thoughts on home renovations.

Of course, all of our regular features are not to be missed – all with a renovation twist. So dig in to the magazine. Happy spring and happy reading!
