Experience: PHILMONT SCOUT RANCH, Cimarron, NM: Ranger, May - August 2013 Assisted crews of 8-12 youth and adult advisers on their first few days of 12-day backpacking expeditions. Taught backpacking and camping skills, as well as wilderness first aid and emergency preparedness. Earned a special assignment to plan and execute a 21-day Rayado Trek, in which participants from throughout the country are tested mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico. FFKR ARCHITECTS, Salt Lake City, UT: TCAUP Externship Program Participant, March 2013 Spent spring break working at FFKR on a few projects, especially the Provo City Center Temple in Provo, Utah. Helped with construction drawings for the Provo Temple, as well as those from other projects. Attended a construction site meeting at the Provo Temple and prepared a field report on the visit. Also assisted with detail drawings from the Provo Temple and the Laie Hawaii LDS Temple. For the Carson Gulley Commons renovation project, built initial Revit model from field measurements and verification, as well as historical drawings. Led a revamped marketing campaign that included KEE project display boards, postcards, and the company Facebook page. Assisted in office organization and other tasks, as needed. Contact: Kristofer Nonn, 608.255.9202, kris@keearch.com INUNDATION JAKARTA: Travel Studio, May - June 2012 Represented TCAUP as a travel studio member in Indonesia and Thailand. Research focused on “weather intensification, sea level rise, extreme river pollution, river flooding, and coastal inundation.” Worked with colleagues from the University of Indonesia and the University of Hong Kong to research and illustrate this ecological crisis in the hypercomplex Jakarta megaregion, as well as providing architectural interventions to explicate or mediate processes of inundation in the area. Research has been included in numerous exhibitions and has been published. EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT, 2005 Designed and built an information kiosk for Hoyt Park in Madison, Wisconsin. This included organizing volunteers for a construction team, meeting with the park’s board of directors, and providing physical labor to see the project through to completion. Designed with the assistance of a local architect, the kiosk is still standing strong today.
