MSU Intramural
Year: 2022
Team: namblebee
Type: Illustrations
Role: Visualization and Design Status: Completed
It is the first time John Mark Polistico joined Bagwis in covering the highly anticipated Mindanao State University - General Santos City week-long Intramurals. Since then, he’s an avid fan of Olympic Games, so why not put his ideas head on to level up this edition’s sports graphics?

Basketball
I watched the pre-games for basketball which happened to be a tight match between College of Agriculture and College of Engineering. Deadlocks were allover towards the end causing the crowd to go wild (I saved a video). It’s a one-point win for COE.
I was never there when College of Fisheries claimed the championship for men’s division but certainly present when my person of interest played and tried his luck for College of Education.

Volleyball
I have known and played volleyball the earliest among the sports I know, clearly, UAAP is to blame. I remember we had to make a ball out of paper and masking tape to play over sampayan or even electrical wiring (don’t do it).
This year, College of Social Sciences took home the crown in men’s division.
Personal Note
It was during the Buwan ng Kabataang Sarangan 2022 when I first encountered this quite reserved athlete from Malapatan. I never knew we share the same academic soil until Intramurals when I saw him fly quick as a middle blocker of College of Education. There I know I have to get the name.
Since then, I followed some of this Math major’s account and the interest intensifies as I learned he’s from a science high school, a copyreader, goes to gym, owns an iPhone (makaproud! although I was told it belongs to her ate), and enjoys the same scholarship as mine.
I know this guy is amazing and I know he have preferences, too. So I’d better keep the ball static and unnoticed.

Lawn Tennis
As far as I can remember, I only played lawn tennis in a mobile game. Interesting about this sport is its scoring system which features the lingos love, multiples of 15, deuce, and advantage.
I have known some world famous tennis players including Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. But nothing is more rewarding than witnessing your college beat all other teams in men’s doubles.

Sepak Takraw
Other than it originated in Malayan Peninsula, I do not have anything more to share about Sepak Takraw. But of course, who would not be thrilled when kickers do their bicycles?

Athletics
This sport houses some of my favorite events. I wish I was in the field to watch some of the athletes during Intrams but they were too early I can’t compromise my sleep.
I read some of the sports articles and they highlighted Mr. Plarisan from my college. I think I have to see this man run his way as the “Father of Athletics” as they say.

Swimming
Swimming has always been the showstopper Olympic sport for me. Who would not go after humans able to swim 50 meters in 21.07 seconds?
Swimming events were done on a Saturday so I never had the chance to watch MSUans glide in the water. It was dominated by College of Social Sciences and Humanities and College of Agriculture. But my friend, Rome Diwa, never left the venue unnoticed bagging 3 golds.
Personal Note
In case you didn’t know, I liked Olympics because I get hooked with Michael Phelps first. The most-decorated Olympian of all time has a good physique, swimmers in general. No wonder I can watch them do freestyle, butterfly, breast and back strokes all day!
