The 58th annual Barnesville Pumpkin Festival Giant Pumpkin Parade will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 1:00pm, rain or shine. The parade will commence from the High School on Shamrock Drive beginning at 12:45pm, continue west on Main Street, north on Chestnut Street and continuing towards the Park, ending at Euclid Drive. We invite any bands, businesses, horses, church groups, clubs or other organizations to participate in this popular annual event. No entry fee is required.

All entries must be pre-registered by September 15, 2022 in order to be announced. No exceptions. Space will be pre-assigned this year. Forms can be downloaded from our website at www.barnesvillepumpkinfestival.com or they may be picked up at Woodsfield Savings Bank or Barnesville Chamber of Commerce office. All non-registered entries (or entries received after September 14, 2022) will not be announced and will fall in at the end of the parade.

Check-in will begin at 10:00am Saturday on Roosevelt Road off of East Main Street / State Route 147. Signs will be posted. Check-in will be open until 11:45am and all entries must be in place by 12:00pm. For everyone's safety, traffic will be limited and one-way from 10:00am until parade time. No traffic will be allowed into Barnesville High School after 12:00pm.

First, second and third places will receive trophies in one of these categories: Float, Best Pumpkin Theme, Group, Horse, Hitch Horse, Royalty, Best Tractor and Best Automobile. The decisions of the judges are final. Winners will be announced after the parade and trophies may be picked up at the Information Booth.

Due to liability issues and threat of injury; no material is to be thrown from your vehicle or float. You must provide walkers with your entry to distribute any and all candy, t-shirts, pamphlets, etc. to the crowd. This policy is for the safety of all, as it will greatly reduce the need for both children and adults to run into the line of parade traffic. Please help us make our parade a safe and happy event by following this important safety policy.

PARADE LINE-UP

Check-in will begin at 10:00am on Sat., Sept. 24 on Roosevelt Road, off of East Main Street / State Route 147 and continue until 11:45pm. After that time, all late entries will fall in line after the last registered entry and will not be announced or judged.

All units must be in line by 12:00pm. The formation area will be Shamrock Drive, Barnesville Middle School and Barnesville High School.

All entries must enter Roosevelt Road off State Route 147 due to one-way traffic in that area from 10:00am until the parade moves at approximately 12:45pm.

Euclid Avenue / Railroad Street will be the return route to the origin of the parade. Maps will be provided to participants and signs will be posted.

We agree to hold harmless the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival, Festival Committee members, the Village of Barnesville, Belmont County and respective personnel for any damage, injury, or loss to any person or property for any cause, directly and indirectly related to participation in the parade. We further agree to distribute candy, pamphlets, and any other materials by hand to parade spectators. Failure to do so will disqualify the unit from judging and may result in suspension of future parade participation.
