Burton’s ‘Power Lead’ HT Ignition Lead Sets for Classic Fords

Burton Power wanted a reliable and visually attractive, high performance ignition lead, specifically made for the various classic Fords in which it specialises, that it could sell at a reasonable price.

After a while it came to the conclusion that the best solution was to produce its own. So that’s what it did and now Burton’s 8mm diameter lead sets are available for the following engines:• 2.9 V6 Cologne • 2.8 V6 Cologne • Duratec HE Inc ST150 • CVH & CVH EFi • Zetec E • Essex V6 • Cosworth YB • Crossflow • Pre-Crossflow • Pinto ...and in 7mm diameter for: Lotus Twin Cam 23D4.

Leads are supplied in blue or black, at the correct length for each application and with caps permanently fixed to the ends.

Burton PowerLeads are manufactured in the UK using premium ignition cable and are ideal for all applications and are particularly suitable for high performance use. The ferromagnetic core uses a Kevlar and fibreglass base. A ferromagnetic compound is extruded onto the core then tightly wound with a stainless steel resistance wire bound with a conductive lacquer. This design ensures maximum spark quality with virtually zero voltage loss whilst suppressing 99.9% of all electromagnetic interference. The cable has a resistance of 5.6Kohm/metre (nom). Temperature rating -40 to +220°C.

Four piston ‘Princess’ calipers were commonly fitted as an upgrade to many Fords that used the M16 caliper as it conveniently had the same mounting bolt pattern. These Leyland calipers have become difficult to find as the Princess and Ambassador donor cars are rare beasts these days.

Burton Power is now able to offer a faithful reproduction of the ‘Princess’ caliper for those that prefer a period modification. The new calipers are now supplied with a spacer kit that allows them to be used with vented discs.

Mini Spares Cooper S Flat Top Brake Master Cylinder

Mini Spares is pleased to announce that a suitable flat top brake master cylinder for the pre ‘65 Cooper S is available again.

Originally, the top of this ‘tin tank’ master cylinder would have had either a removable union or a small hexagonal nut shape machined into it. As neither of these options are now available the pipe goes directly into the flat top as normal, but the outlet is period correct.

This early version differs from the later master cylinder which was more pointed where the brake pipe comes out.

This master cylinder also provides slightly more capacity as it features a 3" high canister as opposed to standard Mini’s cylinder which was 2.3/8" high.

The classic Mini went through many changes and improvements during its production life. Happily, Mini Spares can provide spares for all years and models from the earliest Mk1 through to the late model Multi Point Minis.

A recent addition to available stock is the Air Sensor for the Twin Point Mini.

The Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (or MAP sensor for short) converts pressure variations in the inlet manifold and feeds the Twin Point ECU with information.

It fits to the white plastic socket in the wiring loom.
