Following a wide-ranging internal compliance audit, the council requested we undertake a full asbestos management plan (AMP) review Working in conjunction with Dacorum we undertook a series of document reviews and conducted internal interviews We soon established that the existing AMP was not only unsuitable, but also not being followed by all relevant stakeholders We presented the findings from the review and were subsequently requested to re-write a new, up-to-date, and fit-for-purpose AMP This provided our client with a workable and usable plan relevant for all stakeholders and, ultimately, a greater level of asbestos compliance

Asbestos Remediation Manager

Client: St Albans City & District Council

Role: Asbestos compliance manager

Project size: 5,000+ homes and 260 non-domestic blocks

The council required a reputable partner to assist with management of asbestos containing materials (ACMs). Following the discovery of medium/high risk ACMs within a number of properties, the council needed assistance and advice as to how to manage these items compliantly and sensitively. We took these issues and resolved them one by one through implementing simple processes and procedures. After the asbestos survey reviews, we set about drawing up specifications, usable by all contractors, which explained in detail what was required and the standards we expected. Our service did not end there. During the asbestos remedial works, we also undertook several independent and impartial site audits to make sure our client received a compliant and first-rate service from their contractors. Once the works were completed, we undertook a complete review of all associated completion documents
