The Best Private Math Tutor to Make Your Child Confident

The word math can make you feel like you are getting sick to your stomach. That uneasy feeling is coming from a place of misunderstanding. At first, math can be fun. For most students, it is fun. Simple addition and subtraction typically stick with us and our teachers have fun exercises to show us how to solve these problems. But then we start using multiplication tables, fractions, equations, shapes, letters and all these other things that do not seem like they have anything to do with math whatsoever. This is problematic for most students and math can go from exciting to terrifying in the matter of a couple of months.

When things start to get overwhelming, the best thing to do is to get a private math tutor. Someone who can bring the fun back into the equation is truly invaluable to your overall experience. In high school and middle school, teachers have a hard time of making things fun. The course materials can be exciting but since there are so many students, the teacher has to find one way that works for the majority. More often than not, this method is not all that exciting. Not to knock the teacher or their methods, but it just does not make sense to create activities. It is not plausible. But with a private tutor, this exact thing can happen. This is because the tutor is working with you and no one else.

They are able to give all of their focus to you so they can create fun lessons that fit perfectly into your learning style. I recently talked with a student who was struggling in

their geometry class. The student loved working with their hands but they hated everything about geometry. They said that their teacher was boring and there were too many distractions. So they started working with an in-person math tutor. First, before they even opened the geometry book the tutor started by talking with the student. Learning what their likes and dislikes were outside of the class to get a feel for their personality.

Then the tutor asked the student what they were struggling with in class and what was not as difficult. From there, the tutor was able to create a plan of action that could be followed to help the student breakthrough. Since the student was hands-on, the tutor used this method to their advantage. Showing the student how to find things like the circumference or radius was a lot easier when the student was able to be hands-on with the materials.

The tutor showed the student how these things applied in the real world and it immediately clicked with the student. They ended up raising their score in the class by two whole letter grades and now the student works as a carpenter. They use geometry every single day. These are the types of stories that come associated with working with a math tutor. Sometimes the student just has to step away from the traditional learning environment and work with their own personal tutor.
