2022-2023 Johnston Community College Student Ambassadors

JCC Student Ambassadors are a diverse group of students who serve as leaders on campus. They are liaisons between students, faculty, and staff, and they help answer questions and participate in campus activities. Ambassadors develop relationships with the campus community and network with community representatives. These students are also driven to serve others outside the campus community and participate in volunteer projects.

During their time as Ambassadors, students gain leadership skills and are provided development opportunities throughout the course of the year served.

Student Ambassadors must maintain high academic standards and undergo an application and interview process. In return for their service, students are awarded a scholarship to cover tuition and student fees. Up to 15 students are selected each year.

Women’s Society Endowment

The Linda Vann Lassiter Women’s Society was created to honor the philanthropic spirit of former Foundation Board Director, Linda Vann Lassiter.

The long-term goal of the Society is to build the endowment to ensure every 8th grade student in Johnston County will be eligible to receive the Linda Vann Lassiter Women’s Society Scholarship to attend JCC upon graduation from high school. The Society will focus support initially on the I-95 corridor until funding is established to expand the scholarship county-wide.

Each year the Society will also honor an individual within Johnston County for their philanthropic character. Please contact the Foundation Office for additional information.

Multiple giving levels are available within the Society. Each level has a unique set of benefits that include an exclusive lapel pin, attendance at the annual Linda Vann Lassiter Women’s Society Luncheon, and an engraved nameplate on the perpetual plaque to be placed at Johnston Community College.
