- Zelkova is adaptable and tolerant of heat. It requires little water, and well drained soils. - Over 200 zelkova trees arranged in a grid, which create a great sense of shadow and shade. - The shadow of the leaves casting all over the ground of the plaza manipulating the sense of nature to the visitors.
- The full fall color of the zelkovas signal the transition of season change providing a welcome arrival space for the visitors to the Saitama Super Arena. - The tree canopy in the fall full of yellow and orange leaves fabricate a heavenly perception. - As the leaves begin to fall off, the Keyaki Plaza is slowly becoming more visible from aerial view.

PERSPECTIVE CONCEPT PHOTOSHOP
For this final project, I had such a fun time and honor collaborating with Tatsuyuki S. We wanted to bring the beach to Cal Poly Pomona and used a Hawaii Luau theme for the program of this design. We wanted the graduates and their families to literally take off their clothes and shoes, and dive into a spectacular summer beach party. For our concept, we transformed the whole quad into a full on beach activities festival. One section we have the wave generator surfing, and while the other section is a huge volcano hot tub. For the sport enthusiasts, we have also included beach volleyball and a massive water balloon rage fight. Last but not least, a Hawaii Luau is not completed without a heart warming BBQ party, and an awesome concert to celebrate the Class of 2016.
