DESTE PRIZE


THE JINX

INFO The Jinx is a label formed by two graphic designers, myself and Georgia Saltouridou. We launched this label on June 2013 by designing our first summer collection “Tattoos are for lovers�.

IDENTITY

This collection is consisted of five different designs that we produced on T-shirts and Tote bags by silkscreen technique. Moreover we wanted to design everything about the Jinx label so we undertook packaging. This collection gathers our love for graphic design, silkscreen and fashion.

ART TRUC TROC

INFO What does TRUC TROC mean? The “Art Truc Troc” event has a unique and original concept. At the exhibition the visitor can trade anything he wishes for a piece of art at its estimated value: an object, service, material, trip, … that might interest the artist. No money is involved, only unexpected and unique exchanges.

For this event i designed a poster with strong typography. Objects of everyday life and art pieces compose the main typography.

PSIHAS BAKERY 1968 PRINT

Psihas Bakery is a family business founded in 1968. I was asked to create its identity and a variety of labels for yearly but also seasonal products. We started by designing a retro logo and after this followed the design of the whole identity. A small catalogue was created for their products for web use only. Additionally a pattern design was created for packaging use. The most demanding part was the labels’ design that i was asked to design something both retro and contemporary.

Labels were printed on white stickers (120 gr) and christmas special labels had an extra gold layering on typographic elements.

This is the poster i proposed for EnTechno festival 2013. Old school, abstract, strong, edgy, repetitive, irritating, flashy, hypnotic was the guideline.

I chose colours that respond to the greek identity of the Prize and we played with the typography to create a sense of abstract and freedom.

This is my proposal for DESTE Prize 2013. DESTE Prize is awarded biannually to a Greek contemporary artist.

This is an illustrated book for Yiannis Ritsos poem “Moonlight Sonata”. It’s an experimental project created during my studies. Its dimesions are 21,5 x 17,5 cm.

(It was printed on two different types of paper) VELVET 180 gr Typographic elements were printed on velvet.

MONUMENTS & MUSEUMS OF GREECE INFO

IDENTITY

This is a project in collaboration with Georgia Saltouridou for the competition “Monuments and Museums of Greece”. The project was about a Greek competition for which we were asked to design the whole identity aiming to unify Greek monuments & museums. Hence we designed the logo, packaging and pictogramms. Our proposal reached the final selection.

EXHIBITION

THE PROJECT

Apart from my participation with a poster for the competition i also created the identity of the whole exhibition. The concept of the identity was to blend in the creative work with the industrial enviroment of Athens.

In an era that every value has been flattened and stress has overwhelmed our daily lives, young people feel like a speck in the universe, hidden as if they were unnoticed in the work arena. However, many of us, being optimistic and positive believe it is in our hands to take creative initiatives to bring about change in this sad situation that we experience daily, to promote and introduce ourselves to our social environment. Therefore, we decided to use the word inconspicuous as a concept both timely and multidimensional as the unsung word symbolically transformed through an exhibition of new and emerging artists and graphic designers that will decorate the venue of the eponymous coffee bar Afaneis at Exarchia. The issue of (A)FANEIS is a game of words in greek as a determination of the word obscure / inconspicuous through the perspective of each designer. I design a typographic poster using the types of AFANEIS word compiling a unique pattern for my participation in the exhibition. Afaneis means not to be seen by others. So this pattern was the frame of a mirror that reflected somebody’s face. At the top and the bottom there is a phrase that translates to “Don’t be invisible take place in everything”.
