I recently read what is called the best health and fitness book on the internet. Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. I personally agree that it is a great source of information. If you want to know what to eat and how to exercise to burn fat, it explains it all. So it is certainly great for your knowledge, but other steps need to be taken in order for you to burn the fat forever. Here are the 3 steps: Decide on an outcome Believe you can do it Take mega action The Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle resource would fit into the "take mega action" category. Once you get to the taking action step, you need to know what to do. That's where it fits in. But let's tackle the first two steps first. This is sort of like combining Anthony Robbin's tactics with Tom Venuto's knowledge. A perfect recipe for achieving success with your fat loss goals. OK, so decide on an outcome. It's better to focus on an outcome you want, rather than setting goals. Goals are just things you never attain. Outcomes always happen. So call them outcomes and focus all your energy on them. Focus on what you want your body to be like. Think about making changes now, and think about the consequences of putting it off for longer. If you don't start right now, in another year you could be in even worse shape. Think about what you lose by not changing today, and focus on what you can achieve in 3, 4, or 6 months. Now, deciding what you want is great. Focusing on your desired outcome is the first step... but if you don't believe you can do this, you'll never stick to it. You need to have faith that you can make these changes in your body. All you have to do is think about all the people in the past that have burned fat and changed their bodies. They aren't any better than you. Think about the people in your family that are in shape. Think about co-workers that are healthy and have a good body. Think about all the things you've already achieved in your life. Do you think you can add getting into shape to that list? Yes! Of course you can. You've probably accomplished much harder things. So you must believe you can reach the outcome that you focus on. OK, if you've mastered these first two steps, you accomplished the mental side of burning fat. I feel that these steps are easier, but they are often left out. Without these first steps you won't come nearly as close to your desires. If you don't focus on what you want, how the heck can you ever get it? If you don't believe you're going to do it, what's going to keep you motivated week after week.
Make sure you master the first two steps. Now for the physical part. The part that actually burns the fat. Taking mega action. Burning fat and getting into shape isn't easy. It's hard, but it's doable. 20 minutes of walking 3 times a week isn't going to cut it. You've got to bust your butt, and eat a clean diet. So where do you start? Well this is where the resource comes in that we discussed at the beginning. You need a system to follow. You need someone to tell you what to eat and how to train. You need to follow those instructions and take action. This is the recipe for success. These 3 steps can help you achieve anything. If you want to burn fat and lose weight, follow the steps. Focus on your outcome, believe you can do it, and take mega action. When it comes to taking mega action in relation to getting into shape, you need a proper resource at your side.
