Making MS Word 2010 Easier! At some point in our lives, we will need to know how to explain something to someone else; this may include having to put together a set of instructions. It’s easy enough to write out a list of instructions or directions on a sticky note or something similar, but what if you could put together an incredibly detailed list, using pictures or screenshots taken directly off of your computer? And what if you could use that list to show somebody how to do something on a computer so that you never had to explain that task again? The happiness you bring yourself and the ones you’re helping should be more than enough incentive. Before, you might have had to use several different programs to pull all of those elements together, Now, Word 2010 bundles up everything you need to instruct, illustrate, or simply drag along anybody reading your list. Here’s how to put everything together to make the best list you can: 1. Start from the beginning and type out all of the instructions in a new Word 2010 document. Press Enter after each step. 2. Highlight the text you just wrote and click the Numbering button on the Home tab of the Word 2010 Ribbon. 3. Now, it’s time to insert some screenshots. Place the cursor at the point in the document where you want to place the screenshot. 4. Pull up the browser or window you wish to capture. 5. Back in Word 2010, click the Insert tab on the ribbon and click the Screenshot button. 6. You can choose to either capture the entire window by selecting its icon or select the Screen Clipping option. For Screen Clipping, hold down your left mouse button and drag the box along the window to select a portion of that window. 7. The screenshot appears where you placed the cursor. 8. Rinse and repeat until your list is complete! Congratulations – your list is complete and you’ve spread your knowledge to the world (or at least your family). Word 2010 makes it all possible.
