A MESSAGE FROM LOUISVILLEBEER.COM

Louisville Craft Beer Week 2013. Bigger. Badder. Beer-ier.

Has it already been one year since last year’s groundbreaking Louisville Craft Beer Week? Geez. LouisvilleBeer.com, Kentuckiana’s Craft Beer Destination, is so very proud to present the 4th annual Louisville Craft Beer Week. In case you haven’t been paying attention, Louisville Craft Beer Week is a 9-day, citywide celebration of local and regional craft beer. The primary goal is to promote our area’s thriving craft beer culture, enhancing beer knowledge and appreciation along the way. This handy pull-out guide, along with our website, LouisvilleBeer.com, will be your guide to all of the events that are part of this celebration. I’d like to thank Sales Dude and Hand Model*, Scott Lykins for his hard work in helping put this huge event together. We couldn’t have done it without our sponsors, either: Boombozz Taphouse, Four Pegs Beer Lounge, LEO Weekly, Louisville Independent Business Alliance, Old Chicago Pasta & Pizza, ValuMarket, and West Sixth Brewing. A huge ‘thank you’ also goes out to all of the venues hosting events. Of course, Louisville Craft Beer Week would be impossible without our amazing local and regional breweries: Against the Grain, Apocalypse Brew Works, Beer Engine (Danville), Bluegrass Brewing Company (and Brewpubs), Blue Stallion (Lexington’s newest brewery), Country Boy Brewing (Lexington), Cumberland Brews, Falls City, Kentucky Ale, Lore Brewing (Danville), New Albanian Brewing Company, Schlafly, and West Sixth Brewing (Lexington). With this number of choices, there’s no reason NOT to drink local! There’s a whole lot more to beer than the light-colored lagers we all grew up with. We all hope that this series of events can open the door to tastier beer for the masses. Don’t be afraid of trying new beers. We hope to see a lot of new faces at these events. Beer doesn’t get more domestic than this. Remember, please drink responsibly this week (and every week). –John M. Wurth LouisvilleBeer.com P.S. Text LCBW to 72727 to receive mobile updates and giveaways throughout the week! (Standard messaging rates may apply) P.P.S. Please use the official hashtag #LCBW on all your favorite social media outlets. *The right hand on the cover belongs to BBC’s Malcolm Cason (AKA: Melvin). Thanks for letting us make a mess in the brewhouse!

And now... the listings! Events in green-shaded boxes signify sponsor’s events.

Trailer Trash (An Antithesis) at The Nachbar

5 Tasting Courses with Beer Pairings Live Music & DJs Only 5 bucks!

969 Charles Street 4:00 - 10:00 pm We are not suggesting that people should not be drinking beers in these tenth and eleventh hours, but what we are offering is an opportunity to take a break from the exorbitantly flavorful, excessively high-in-alcohol or impossibly rare tastes of Craft Beer and just drink some beer. Not good beer. The kind Tom Cruise orders in movies. During this event, we’ll be hooking up kegs of Busch, Hudy Delight, Old Milwaukee, Old Style and Pabst to the taps on the trailer out back. Somebody will play (or press play on) some badass guitar shredding and belly-aching country tunes. Beers will be sold separately, as a flite, OR you can bring your own vessel, pay one price and drink these beers until you’re done. Moderation in moderation. Equal and Opposite. TRAILER TRASH!!! (Sound terrible? We’ll be pouring tasty remnants from the previous week inside.)
