1.2

This symbol indicates a potentially dangerous situation. If this instruction is not observed, the product, components or workpieces may be damaged.

Safety information The socket tray described in the operating manual are engineered, manufactured, certified and documented in accordance with relevant safety standards. As a result, the socket tray normally pose no danger with regard to damage to property or health, provided the handling and safety instructions described are observed.

1.3

Intended use The socket tray should only be used in conjunction with the TME-100 nutrunner control unit from Apex Tool Group. Unauthorized remodelling, repairs, and modifications are forbidden for safety and product liability reasons.

The socket tray is connected to the Inputs plug connector

System Overview

2.1

General description The socket tray has been designed for use with the TME-100 CT nutrunner control unit with hand-held nutsetter types 17/47/67. The socket tray is connected to the "I/O Inputs" plug connector on the TME-100 (side connector box) and is then ready for operation. (Description of the TME-100 in the Apex Tool Group operating manual PL12-1300) Removing a socket from the socket tray sends an enable signal (STV-Pin 8) to the TME-100 nutrunner control unit automatically, which binary encodes the related production group (STV-Pin 2,3,4). Important: The TME-100 nutrunner control unit can only be started if only one socket is removed. (otherwise there is no enable signal at the STV-Pin 8) •

The following applies to the TME-100 software up to version 1.2: -

The TME-100 "External application select1)" function is activated by the signals conveyed from the socket tray to the STV (pins 2,3,4 and 8).

-

The TME-100 input at Pin 6 has the function "External application select" and is activated by the signal "Ext. application select control" (STV-Pin 6) from the socket tray.

The following applies to TME-100 software version 1.3: -

The "External application select1)" function is activated by the software settings (enable in TME-100 system settings: "External application select" and "External tool enable" - see Fig. 2-1 ) and the signals that the socket tray sends to the STV (pins 2,3,4 and 8).

-

The TME-100 input at Pin 6 has no function.

The following applies to TME-100 software from version 1.4 onwards: -

The "External application select1)" function is activated by the software setting (enable in TME-100 system settings: "External application select" and "External tool enable" - see Fig. 2-1 ) and the signals that the socket tray sends to the STV (pins 2,3,4 and 8).

-

Important: The TME-100 input at Pin 6 has the function "Reject release". If this function is activated with the software setting ("Input I4"), the TME-100 nutrunner control unit remains blocked for all other rundowns that follow the first NOK rundown (Reject release signal is not present). In this case, the signal connection to Pin 6 of the socket tray connector must be interrupted. This should be achieved using an additional external Reject release switch.

1) Explanation for "external application select": Selection of different production groups with nutrunner parameters for the nutrunner control unit: Settings from nutrunner diagram, switch-off and limit value torques, speed specifications, etc.

Fig. 2-1 Caution!

Do not plug in the socket tray when the nutrunner control unit TME-100 is under operating voltage. The plastic inserts S970716 on the socket tray must be adapted to the respective application. The plastic inserts must be removed from the housing before being modified. The following drawings must be observed: Remove before handling

Example, socket SW24 Fig. 2-2

The socket tray can be configured with between 4 and 8 sockets, depending on the application. At positions that are not occupied, a threaded pin must be inserted in the plastic insert (S970716). The socket tray is supplied with threaded pins in all plastic inserts as standard.

2.1.1 Caution!

2.1.2

Service In the event of repairs, the complete socket tray must be sent to Apex Tool Group. If the tableau is repaired independently, there is a danger that the TME-100 nutrunner control unit is operated incorrectly and that rundowns will be faulty as a result. If this is not complied with, the manufacturer is entitled to declare any warranty obligations as invalid. Transportation and storage •

Transport and store only in the original packaging

The packaging is recyclable

If the packaging is damaged, inspect the complete socket tray for visible damage. Inform the transporter or CPT, if necessary.
