ENERGY-EFFICIENT GLASS WITH LOW-E AND ARGON GAS In confronting our harsh Canadian winters, our most important task is the prevention of heat loss through the windows in our homes. Within the window industry, we often hear terms like “double glazing”, “triple glazing”, “insulating spacer”, “weathertightness”, not to mention “Low-E and Argon”. Are you aware of the impact of the Low-E and argon gas combination on a window’s energy efficiency?

Guardian’s Low-E ClimaGuard 80/70 glass is specially designed to keep heat in and maximize the input of the sun’s heat in northern climate zones. With its U-factor 0.271 argon-filled double glazing, the ClimaGuard 80/70 lowers the amount of heat loss through windows and helps maintain heat on the inside of the glazing. As a result, homeowners can enjoy increased comfort and reduced energy bills.

In winter, the thermos of a Low-E and Argon window enables the sun’s rays to allow a maximum amount of heat and light to enter into a home. Another property of this type of glazing is its ability to reduce heat loss to the outside environment. On the other hand, in summer during most of the day, the sun’s high angle restricts the quantity of heat penetrating the glazing, without however limiting the quantity of light. THE LOW-E AND ARGON GAS COMBINATION The combination of a Low-E layer together with argon gas is really the perfect match for our Canadian weather, in winter as well as in summer. The superior energy efficiency of Low-E and Argon windows provides excellent heat control, allowing you to save more than 12% off your heating bill. Its relatively low cost makes this a combination you can truly not afford to ignore.

Combined with its low U-factor, the 80/70 offers the highest light transmission capacity of any ClimaGuard glass model. Its superior light transmission, together with a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.699, allow the sun’s heat to enter through the glazing. In this way, light and heat combine to naturally illuminate and warm up a home. Moreover, ClimaGuard glass benefits from the lowest tint in the industry.

OUR LIFETIME WARRANTY Subject to the conditions and restrictions specified below, FENOMAX warrants that the products it sells are free of any manufacturing defects due to materials or labour. This warranty applies to all purchases made after April 1st, 2015, upon presentation of proof of purchase. PVC and aluminum: limited lifetime warranty FENOMAX warrants, for the life of the product, PVC components against all manufacturing defects and against peeling, corrosion, and excessive fading. FENOMAX warrants, for a period of ten (10) years, the paint applied on PVC frames and sashes, as well as aluminum frames and sashes painted with a colour other than a standard colour, against peeling, blistering, cracking, and excessive fading (more than five (5) Delta-E units). See condition B. Hardware: limited lifetime warranty FENOMAX warrants, for the life of the product, the hardware installed on its windows against all manufacturing defects and any defect in the materials making it unusable under normal conditions of use. This warranty does not apply in the following cases: hardware painted, varnished or coated with substance that can impair proper functioning of the product; hardware oxidation and fading; to the polish or finish of the hardware; defects related to corrosion; hardware used in a corrosive or saline environment. See condition C. Sealed units: limited lifetime warranty FENOMAX offers a limited lifetime warranty on all low-e sealed units factory-installed in its products against condensation and dirt between the two panes of glass or against defects within the glass. However, absence of spontaneous breakage of the inner glass (thermal breakage) is guaranteed for a limited period of one (1) year. See condition E. FENOMAX offers a ten-year (10) warranty on non factory-installed sealed units.
