3. Beside the Seaside BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Inky’s alarm clock sounded very loud as it went off in the quiet of the morning. Inky sat up and quickly jumped out of bed. Today, Inky, Bee and Snake were going out. Inky went to the sink and put in the plug. She filled up the basin with water. She washed carefully, making sure she cleaned behind her ears and gave her whiskers an extra-special clean. Then she pulled the plug out and waited as the water went g, g, g, gurgle down the plughole.

Just then, there was a loud knock on the door. “All right, all right,” called Inky. “Come in, Snake, I’m nearly ready. I’ve just got to pack my cheese sandwiches. Is Bee here, yet?” “Outside, ready and waiting,” called Bee, popping her head round the door. “Have a nice time!” called Phonic to them, as they left.

On went the light as Inky bounced into the living room. She skipped over to Phonic, the computer. “o, o, o, on!” she sang, as she pushed the switch. “Good morning,” said Phonic, appearing on the screen. “You’re in a good mood, today.” “Yes,” replied Inky. “Today, we are going to the beach.”

They found themselves a good spot on the beach and started to unpack their things. Bee had brought a big beach umbrella. “u, u, u, up, umbrella!” she said, as she put it up. “The sun is very hot. That should give us a bit of shade.” They put their picnic things under the umbrella and rushed into the sea to swim.
