LETTER FROM YOUR LETTER FROM LTG Hey y'all! I hope y'all are surviving quarantine. I can’t believe it’s been a month since I have been working with y’all. This month we had a few things, like the award ceremony and our first DCM/PCM. Though we are going

through uncertain and scary times we must stick together and continue to serve. If you are able to serve please do, if not I understand. If you go out continue to practice social distancing and other precautions. I hope to get elections done this month, so if you need any help please contact me. Don’t forget that RTC is coming up. It is important that officers participate, to make sure they revive the proper training. As we come closer to the end of the school year don’t forget to keep in contact with me and your club. I hope we all get to meet each other in person soon if you need anything please let me know.

Yours in friendship and service, Jonathan Perez Lieutenat Governor of Division 1

As a Lieutenant Governor, I am responsible for supporting and growing the clubs within my division and serving as a liaison between the Texas-Oklahoma Key Club district and the clubs in my division. My duties include publishing a newsletter every month, training and supporting club officers, holding divisional council meetings, and serving on one or more district committees. I am here to help and support each and everyone one of you, so if you need help don't hesitate to reach out.

This year I want to focus on growing Division 1 as well as improving the communication throughout our division. I also want to hold more socials so we can all get to know each other more.

Just a reminder that the 2020 Key Club International Convention has been

canceled. Based on health department recommendations, the Key Club board

concluded that holding a convention in

San Francisco, California, this year would

be inadvisable and impractical because of the health threat to Key Club members,

their families, and all individuals traveling to and from the convention. If you

registered for the Key Club International convention you will receive a full refund of registration and ticket fees. If you have any questions related to the refund please contact registration@kiwanis.org. The 20192020 International Council will elect the 2020-2021 council.

MAJOR MAJOR EMPHASIS EMPHASIS More than 10 million kids enter a children's hospital like Cook Children's Medical Center across North America every year. Contact your local CMN hospital and invite a representative to a club meeting to see how your club can help during these scary times.

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. They fo so by community-based services in primary health care, basic education, and safe water and sanitation. Visit the Unicef website to see how you can take action.

Since the 1940s, Key Clubs have worked with March of Dimes to make a positive impact in the lives of babies everywhere. Help support moms throughout their pregnancy, even when everything doesn’t go according to plan. You can help by hosting service projects, raising funds, and educating communities about the crisis of

10

preterm birth.

SERVICE SERVICE PARTNERS PARTNERS

Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization that works with the support of young people to END the global water crisis by building fresh water wells in developing communities that need safe, clean drinking water. By providing a community with safe drinking water, disease rates can drop by up to 88% virtually overnight! Child mortality rates can drop up to 90%- overnight! Clean water also plays an incredibly critical role in effectively treating and managing HIV/AIDS in rural communities. See how you and your club can help lower disease rates on the thirst project website.
