RAY CHING Dawn Chorus - The Fables

THE ORIGINAL PAINTED BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS 24t h N ove m b e r - 15t h D e ce mbe r 2015 DAWN CHORUS sees the publication of Ray Ching’s first Graphic Novel. The book tells of Aesop, the Fabled Teller of Fables, and his journey to the Antipodes, to Aotearoa New Zealand, even after his death and offers as evidence a series of cleverly painted and elaborately constructed illustrations that form the basis of this exhibition. Ray Ching has drawn and painted more than 200 pages for the volume, and has hand written text in both English and Latin. Artworks are painted in Alkyds and Acrylics to allow for much faster drying times than the oil paint with which the artist usually works.
