What is a bush fire? A bush fire is a fire that has star ted by extreme heat in a forest or a bush. Common causes of bushfires include lightning, campfires, machines and cigarettes.

They agreed that blood red means the bushfire is catastrophic, red means it is extreme, orange means it is severe, yellow means it is ver y high, blue means it is high and green means it is low. Fire Danger Ratings are a feature of weather forecasts and aler t the town or city should prepare for the day.


How bad Are bushfires in Australia? There have been 46 major bushfires in Australia so far. The most common place for bushfires is in Western Australia and Victoria. The Victorian bushfire brigade is called The Countr y Fire Authority. In Western Australia it is called The Depar tment of Environment and Conser vation.


The worst bushfire in Australia – The Black Thursday. The Black Thursday bushfire was the biggest bushfire in Australia. It was 5 million hectares. 12 people were killed, 1 million sheep were killed and thousands of cattle were killed. It star ted on the 6th of Februar y 1851.
