Ludwig van Beethoven Ludwig van Beethoven is a famous composer and he was born in Bonn, Germany in 1770. He composed 9 symphonies.
Talent Beethoven’s talent was recognized early on, and by 1778, he was able to play the viola, piano and the organ!!! In 1787, Beethoven was so good at playing instruments that he went to Vienna to meet Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is not clear if he succeeded in meeting Mozart.
Deaf When he was twenty, Beethoven began to suffer from hearing loss. He did continue to compose, conduct and perform, even after he was completely deaf! When he finished the 9th symphony he heard nothing, so he began to weep. It is said that after conducting his Ninth Symphony for the first time, he had to be turned around to see the audience clapping really excitedly and joyfully. When he heard nothing, he started to weep.
Life
Beethoven sadly did not have a wife because he was deaf, so sadly he also did not have any kids. He was not able to write his 10 th symphony because of his death. Beethoven died on 26th March 1827.
