The Singapore flag


The five stars represent democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality. The white colour on the flag stands for purity and virtue. Red stand`s for brotherhood and the equality (being equal) of man. The moon represents for a young growing nation. The flag was designed and created by a group that was led by the deputy prime minister of Singapore at the time, Dr.Toh Chin Chye.

Singapore is made up of 63 islands. It is actually 25% bigger than it was during independence. There is a height restriction on building of 280 metres. The Singapore flyer is the world`s tallest observation wheel 165 metres. Singapore has the fastest walkers on the planet. Chilli crab (created in Singapore) is one of the world`s 7 iconic dishes.

The world`s first international organization for toilet sanitation was founded in Singapore. Singapore became such a famous place because it had the biggest port ( a town or city with a harbour where ships load or unload, esp. one where customs officers are stationed) in all of south east Asia. (A customs officer is a law enforcement agent who enforces customs laws, on behalf of a government ).
Singapore is 276 square miles (714 square kilometres). Singapore has grown from 226 square miles (586 square kilometres) in 1965. With a population density of about 18,000 people per square mile (7,000 per square kilometres). Shiok means the expression of sheer pleasure and happiness.
