Edmund Hillary was born on July 20th 1919. He was famous for the first person to climb Mount Everest, he died on January 11th 2008. This is what he looks like when he was young:
His explorings 
Edmund Hillary was interested in mountains when he was 16 years old. When he was 20 years old he climbed a major mountain. 400 people climbed mount Everest, he climbed mount Everest with his friend Tenzing Norgay. But they just stayed on the mountain only for a few minutes because the air was so thin! They went to the top of mount Everest at 11:30am 29th of May 1953.
