WHERE DOES TERRY FOX COME FROM? Terry Fox was born on 28th July 1958. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada. His parents are called Rolland “Rolly” Fox and Betty Fox. His dad was a principle at Mitchell District Highschool. Terry Fox hobbies are wrestling, running and playing basketball.


WHAT DID TERRY FOX HAD TO OVERCOME? Terry Fox had to cut off his right leg because he had a bone cancer. If he didn’t cut off his right leg, the cancer would spread through his whole body. He had to overcome the pain of a mechanical leg.


WHAT DID TERRY FOX ACHIEVED? ď‚— Terry Fox decided to run 5,000 miles half way through

Canada with his mechanical leg, to give money to charity. He raised more than $500 million for cancer research and more than that he also gave hope to other people with cancer. He had thought that he would get heart problems but he never gave up.


Death Terry Fox died in June 28, 1981, when he nearly completed his run across Canada. He died because he had cancer in his lungs. He died in the age of 20. His last words were “A leadership component could have been something small.� After his death, lots of runners continued on with the annual Terry Fox run.
