History of Jessie Ripoll Primary Jessie Ripoll Primary School (JRPS) officially opened its doors to students on September 24, 1979. The founders were the Catholic organization called the Sisters of Mercy led by a sister affectionately named Jessie Ripoll.
The Alumni is Formed With the continued positive growth of JRPS, it only seemed fit that an organization was required to consolidate a relationship between past students and the school. In November 2010, the first set of main members formed an executive body and started the Jessie Ripoll Primary Alumni Association (JRPAA). Main objectives of our group include:
At that time it catered to some 600 students monitored by 12 able teachers. Since then, JRPS has blossomed to become a wellknown body that consistently produces scholars both in the academic and nonacademic realms of society. Most of the early growth and discipline of students can be attributed to the two main initial leaders of JRPS, Sister Shirley Chung (First Principal) and Rena Wolfe (First VicePrincipal). Today JRPS has an active board of governors with the Acting Board Chairman being Richard Josephs. They have facilitated the establishment of additional facilities at the school including the Roy Golding Resource Room, the Sister Mary Paschal Enrichment Room and the Bernita Locke Pavilion.
