Denison Park Part 1 of 2 Location: Harlem Park, Baltimore, Maryland

Lined row houses holding life create the frames for our ordered designs of the edgewood neighborhood. Unforseen gems that crave our attention allow for an infestation of creativity through diverging lines. Using solids and voids creates a defining element for the neighborhoods underlying need for unification while blurring the lines of division allows for our photos to illuminate a rugged and hushed community ...

Class: Studio II Entering the field and receiving instruction, our mission was to capture the essence of this neighborhood. Back alleys trashed and blighted row homes were the fences of this neighborhood. So, how can you capture the essence of a seeming unslightly area? Answer: Look for the hidden gems The people in the row houses, the memories that the fields hold of children playing. Extract the gems.

prisms in the rough Part 2 of 2 Location: Harlem Park, Baltimore, Maryland

Through extracting inspiration from the denison neighborhood and exploring abstract iterations, prisms in the rough is born. Allowing ourselves to revel in the beauty that prisms of solid and void create, a pavilion that caters to all holds the power to bring a community together through shared spaces and experiences...

Class: Studio II Applying inspiration from my extractions I designed a ‘Gem’. Prisms in the rough stemmed from the gleaming potential the Denison neighborhood held not easily seen on the surface, but hiding within.

Further development of my ‘Extractions’ of the Denison Neighborhood; designing a space for and about the community.
