We offer the above material disciplines from carbon steel through to stainless steel alloys.
Case Study I AIRBP Rail Loading Facility Isle of Grain, Kent This was a project working closely with Murphy and AirBP to facilitate Heathrow airport with a direct rail link to provide additional aviation fuel for the airport. ThermoweldPWS was awarded the contract to prefabricate and supply the project with 11 stainless steel rail loading sampling skids and 1 stainless steel filter house skid. We then had the task of incorporating a thousand metres of carbon steel pipe ranging from 015NB through to 400NB and 1500 metres of 015NB through to 200NB of 316L stainless steel pipe. This was to incorporate the new and existing tank together through the apron area and onto the filter house, onto the sampling skids where the fuel is then passed to the rail loading tankers for transportation. ThermoweldPWS provided all senior supervision and trades to complete this project. We then successfully went onto execute the commissioning of the plant.
Case Study II East West Interconnector Project (EWIP) The East West Interconnector Project involved the installation of HVDV cable both under the sea and on land. When work was complete the interconnector had laid a 186km in total, 30km of land cable in North Wales to which Thermoweld PWS was awarded the first phase of the project. This involved a horizontal drill to pass under a rail crossing, therefore a high tensile steel pipe was needed to be used to carry the cable. In total, we fabricated 4 pipe runs at 900m per run as you can see from the pictures working in conjunction with Bryn Thomas Crane hire and Volkerinfra the contract was a success from start to finish.
