Confidential is a project about the mind-bending hidden discoveries that are kept secret from the general public. My work takes the mysterious and incomprehensible and presents it in an easily digestible format. A zine has the ability to be shared and reproduced, and becomes detached from its creator. The information that went into this zine should be public knowledge but for some reason politics and celebrity news overshadows one of the strangest events in world history. Recently, the CIA was forced to release thousands of previously classified documents about UFO sightings, research, and recovered artifacts. Through the use of cyanotype, the original process for creating blueprints, it adds an architectural feel to the documents I used within the zine. I created the document in InDesign, making thoughtfully designed spreads and deciding the pacing, before printing the digital negatives and exposing them on to the coated cyanotype paper under the light box.
