Hi! I am an Architect from India. I believe happiness is always about embracing the person you are becoming. My professional experiences helped me to understand my ability and interest in exploring the confluence between the built and natural. This guided me to complete my Masters degree in Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design from Politecnico Di Milano With the present ecological imbalances, I imagine that our generation should set an example. My interests lie in learning from traditional practices and innovating through technology. I believe in the transformative potential of landscape on human behavior, to create better environments for people to interact.

AN ALTERNATE REFLECTION SHAPING CANALS OF KOCHI.
The forgotten canal system of Kochi, was once used for transportation, and for flood mitigation, dispersing excess rainwater into the sea. The devastating floods of 2018 is an indication of the changing climate, and how vulnerable our cities are. This Design analyses the blue-green nexus, proposing to alter the edges to mitigate flooding, and establishing lost connections to bring green systems into the heart of the urban nucleus. The study examines the relationship between man and nature through a multi scalar approach. Agriculture and flood management at a regional level, exploiting the opportunity of water transportation at a city level, and at a local scale, reviving the canals as an asset for the public. The project proposes to re-imagine a canal at the heart of the city, as a prototype for further such actions, which could form a sustainable network. The design can be perceived as a brave statement, signifying the requirement for an urgent change in the relation between the city and its natural assets, suggesting to frame an alternate reflection. Thesis, with Parv Bakhulbhai Trivedi Politecnico Di Milano: 2020 Location -Kochi,India Keywords: Canal, Flood mitigation, Agriculture, Edges

The course of urbanization in the last two decades has disregarded the historical water systems, as human dependency on them started to deteriorate. The city developed linearly along major road networks, and ignored various ecologically sensitive landscapes including the cultural canalscape. Furthermore, substantial portions of wetlands were appropriated to meet the needs of a growing city. Our proposal reimagines and opens up the canal edge as a green-blue public asset, introduced into the heart of the city, as part of the larger regional green corridor. New water taxi terminals are proposed connected by pedestrian paths to other transit nodes creating a web of intermodal systems, at a metropolitan scale.

Nature based solutions and architectural anchor points work in a cohesive way along the canal forming an integrated design to increase resilience to flooding, along with public place making. These solutions could be considered a prototype to be scaled up and used along other canals within the city. The Mulasserry Canal is a disjointed system intersected by infrastructure, covered by slabs, and filled with refuse. In our proposal, we worked with reviving the three layers, green, blue and socio economic infrastructure.

WALKING ALONG THE CANAL An endemic planting matrix was worked out, after studying the varying salinity of the canal. This was implemented as bands along the canals, to improve water quality, to produce food, and to sustain habitat. The pedestrian infrastructure is considered as a versatile module, generating energy and food. The form and dynamism of this is derived from the traditional fishing nets of the area. A wall along the axis transforms and folds assuming various functions respecting the immediate context and engaging the public

UNFOLDING THIRDSCAPES
Ponticelli stands as a trace to what could have been. Once a rich Campania, promised by industrial motives .Now lies abandoned and dissected by infrastructures, characterised by issues of social unrest, and unemployment. Through our analysis, we realized that these fragmented terrains are the collective identity of this locality, an element which could link the place. Our proposal tries to break boundaries, making the peripheries porous, and unifying the ground throughout our site. Corridors connecting places of importance traverse through our site, fluctuating into plazas of different sizes and character. Woven into this is the landscape interventions, inspired from the surrounding, helping to seamlessly merge our site to the adjacent. Our proposal focuses on responsible use of architectural materials, and landscape textures, to carve out interactive and productive areas from an abandoned site, while maintaining its past identity and traces. Thus, creating a moment, where one can listen to the bells toll in Santa Maria basilica, while working in a creative lab, overlooking Vesuvio Studio, with Pournima Nair, Jagrit vij, Parv Trivedi Politecnico Di Milano: 2020 Location -Ponticelli , Naples-Italy Keywords: Fragmented, Identity, Boundaries, Porosity, Flexible, Modular

ANALYSIS The masterplan created the Ponticelli Strip, a pedestrian friendly promenade with interconnected public amenities. Our Site was centraly located to this. Largely abondoned, with a metro station and a housing complex. Our strategy looked at opening up the ground floor and reinforcing pedestrian axises, as an interphase between the historic center and the new ponticelli. Understanding the fragile nature of the neighbourhood, themes in thirdlandscape, ephemerality, and flexibility was looked at in design.

COHESIVE GROUNDSCAPES A RESILIENT PERSPECTIVE
The project was an intervention in the coast of Ravenna, for the year 2100, expecting a sea level rise of 1 meter. Our project area included the Pineta Di Classe and its surrounding towns. The site was interesting for its fragility and its dynamic interaction between the terra firma and shifting dunes. The pineta, planted during the Roman Era as a natural barrier from the wind to protect the agricultural plains, stretched throughout the east coast, forming a stable landscape.Over the years, the coast has lost, this cohesive system, and what remains are fragmented landscapes. An integral part of our site is the ortazzo, a fresh water source formed between the terra firma and the two rivers. The ortazzo is also a valuable ecosystem for the many flora and fauna which inhabit it, including species of migratory birds. We started our design approach, by analysing and categorizing the risks faced by this land, and adopting strategies to counter it. Hence the design is a proposal to adopt a resilient coastal landscape and adapt to climate change, sea level rise, and hypothetical anthropological actions. STRATEGY: A Utopian Perspective The Pineta of Ravenna in 2100AD was mapped in a dystopian and utopian way based on certain future outcomes. This helped in creating a strategic map for the area to counter the possible issues . The fragile habitat of the area was studied and a more adaptive and cohesive landscape was derived by introducing dykes. Tourism and technologies in agriculture was looked in light of a future perspective to create a new resilient coastal landscape. 31

NEW ECONOMY A new agriculture based economy is proposed on floating fields. Cultivation of industrial Hemp, is suggested for its sustainability and many uses. Industrial Hemp is fast growing and can be grown in marginal lands, its many products will revive the coast and create a circular economy of cultivation, production and reuse. This will create employment opportunities, and insinuate new local identities for the settlements. The floating fields are a natural system, using locally available products, and technology to tap atmospheric humidity. The congregation of this will form a mosaic in the inundated landscape of Ravenna, Symbolising the byzantine age.

TITAN INTEGRITY CAMPUS WORKING AMIDST NATURE
This is a project I was involved from start to finish as a junior architect while working for mindscape architects Bangalore. The Titan Corporate office building is located on a 6.5acre site which has a lake on the eastern side. The idea was to exploit every view possible to the lakeside making the user a spectator of this serene setting. A bio lake is conceived towards eastern side of the site which responds to the existing lake and would seem like an extension of it. The three-floor structure has terrace garden at every level. The free flowing Cascading green terraces is connected through external staircases giving a feeling of elevated ground at each level. These terraces also provide insulation to office spaces below. Green terraces not only allow one to work outdoors, stimulate interaction amidst the flora and fauna but also offers trails for those who wish to enjoy leisurely walks. Over the year’s greenery on the receding terraces on either side of the lake would embrace the built making it a non-building. mindspace architects: 2014-2017 Location -Bangalore, India Keywords: Bio Lake, Terrace Garden, Non Building

DESIGN INTENT Conceptually the design attempted to recreate a lost connection between the lakes. The building is oriented to avoid glare, and essentially works with the elements of nature to achieve sustainability. The workspaces are arranged around a lake with terrace gardens, punctuated with skylights and air vents, blurring the threshold between inside and outside.

H.U.L GATE HOUSE AND PLAZA EXTENDING THE ARRIVAL
The site is located at the fringes of Bangalore metropolitan, in a predominantly industrial area. The gate house project was the final addition to the realized master plan for Hindustan Unilever Ltd in Bangalore, One of the largest consumer goods company. Due to road widening schemes the existing entrance and security facilities had to be rearranged abiding by the new setback regulations. The new built form had to be integrated with the existing landscape to form a prominent entrance to the facility, emphasizing on the axis and improving the circulation. The intent was to merge the existing pine trees, and the large forecourt to create an entrance plaza in front. A reflective water court was added around the pine tree cluster. This created a sense of calm and tranquility for a visitor, contrary to the busting street outside. This experientially marked the entry to the facility. mindspace architects: 2014 Location -Bangalore, India Keywords: Repurpose, circulation, axis, tranquility
