Johnson for the “School Librarian of the Year” award. It is with confidence and pleasure that I recommend her to receive this much deserved honor. We are so lucky to have such a technologically skilled and creative Librarian at Pikesville High School. Joquetta has been on staff at our school for three years and has joined and supported the PTSA each year. During this school year, she generously gave her time by creating a “Twitter Workshop” for the parents. Through this workshop, some of our technologically challenged members learned the power of Twitter, how to set up an account and got rolling on this fun and powerful form of social media. She uses creativity in programming and use of content. Her skills reach beyond just this one evening. She reaches out constantly to parents, students and families. She fulfills the needs of students and the school community, providing exemplary service through her tremendous understanding of technology tools. Ms. Johnson participates in our “Back to School Nights” and the 9th Grade Freshman Orientations. In 2013, PTSA nominated her as the Teacher of the Year. She supports our “Reflections” program and sponsors the children, encouraging them to do their best work. In fact, two out of the three winning submissions were sponsored by her. She sparkles and shines with her winning personality and charming demeanor. We absolutely love and value Joquetta.

Joquetta has an extensive resume of impressive accomplishments. In 2012, she received the honor of becoming a Google Certified Teacher. In 2013, she was a member of the Library of Congress Teacher Cohort. In 2014, Ms. Johnson was a PBS Learning Media Digital Innovator. Her Library Website is up to date and used by both students and parents. I am so impressed by her skills. I wholeheartedly nominate Joquetta L. Johnson for the honor and distinction of being “School Librarian of the Year. She outdoes herself, daily. Sincerely yours, Jill Dudley Cohen PTSA member, Parent and Class of 1985
