Hand Job Book
I really like Damien Correll’s ‘HUGS FOR YOU’ piece due to the way the type is made to look as though it has been created from pieces of wood/logs. I think type designed like this has a very playful theme to it and I feel, is more interesting looking than standard type faces that follow a set serif/sans serif style.
I like how Ed Brogna’s ‘PRESERVATION’ type has a blocky/pixelated style. The letters are made up of individual dots which give me the impression of pixels, also the large squares in the corners of each letter resemble larger pixels which make up the letters. I like the idea of using pixels to create type as it has a link to digital design so I will experiment using a pixel stye.
