Aromatherapy: Energizing Essential Oils

Page 1

Aromatherapy: Energizing Essential Oils By now most of our readers are familiar with aromatherapy. We have often spotlighted relaxation oils and various recipes that will help calm/de-stress. Today we are going to look at the opposite end of the spectrum and spotlight some oils that will re-energize and stimulate (but hopefully not add any stress).

For a quick midday pick-me-up, try pine essential oil or eucalyptus essential oil. The best oils to keep near your desk to promote alertness or to re-focus your attention: Lemon, Cinnamon and Clove. Looking to reduce that all-day sleepy feeling, or prevent that headache that comes with sleepiness? Try spicy scents like black pepper, cinnamon and clove. All around energy oils? Lemongrass, cypress and fir. So how should you use these? You can keep a bottle on hand and apply a drop or two to a tissue and keep with you. You can also mix in with your candle-making and light a candle when you need the pick-me-up! Other options: Diffusers, potpourri, room spray or mix a drop or two in your shower/bath in the AM! You can even mix a few drops of the oils together for a perfect “energy blend. The possibilities are endless, so find a blend/method that works for you!
