Aromatherapy For Cold or Flu

Today we are going to tell you how to mix some of your essential oils to ensure you don’t spread viruses during the cold/flu season or to make you feel better if you’re already caught that awful cold. Make sure you diffuser is dusted off, cleaned up, and ready to go! Don’t worry you don’t need a diffuser but it’s always nice to have. Recipe #1: These oils should be mixed in a diffuser for steam inhalation. 1 Part Eucalyptus Essential Oil 1 Part Lemon Essential Oil 1 Part Rosewood Essential Oil 1 Part Lavender Essential Oil This blend can be used in your diffuser (electric diffuser pictured below), or you can put a few drops around the house, on the radiator to evaporate and fill the room, or use it in a spray bottle. If you don’t have a diffuser, drop the mixture into boiled water. Put a towel over your head and breath in the steam. Be careful as the mixture will be hot. The oils and steam will help loosen mucus (and you will feel like you’re getting a pretty great facial at the same time). Recipe #2: This recipe will help protect your throat from airborne viruses. Mix 1 drop of Tea Tree Oil with 1 drop of Lemon Essential Oil in a glass of warm water. Gargle. DO NOT swallow. Recipe #3: This is to help get rid of the chills once you already have the flu. Run a bath. Add 3-4 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil and 3-4 drops of Black Pepper Essential Oil. You can alter this by adding this mixture to the end of the shower. Breath in. Relax. Enjoy. Again, we recommend getting plenty of rest and fluids when you are sick!
