Greetings From the Regent! Greetings Brothers! 2013 has proven itself to be a great year for Delta Lambda already. We started off the year with the honor of hosting the Atlantic Province conclave! Brothers from all over the province came together for a great (but icy!) weekend in Buies Creek. Not only did we initiate many new service projects this year we had great fundraising success with our first ever disc golf tournament. This is also a monumental year because we celebrated the 25th anniversary of Delta Lambda! Another great piece of news is starting this fall, Kappa Psi will live in the first ever Fraternity House on Campbell University's campus! We are so glad that Campbell is allowing us to strengthen our brotherhood by having a house again! Our new home is the Marshbanks House located across from the Buies Creek Fire Dept. We hope you'll stop by the next time you're in town! In Brotherly Love,
Jordan Marie Ballou

Fundraising Events Kappa Psi has been involved in a number of fundraising activities this year and continues to work to provide for charities and foundations of particular importance to the brothers. This year we were able to give back to several great organizations including Toure de Cure, St. Baldrick’s Foundation and ALS research. We are currently selling Kappa Psi “ribbon” keychains and will be holding our annual “Big Bats” softball tournament and cook-out next semester! We will keep you updated as your support would be truly appreciated. For more information please contact Ashley McCallister at anmccallister0829@email.campbell.edu.

Service . . .To support all projects which will advance the profession of pharmacy & to actively participate. Delta Lamba has been very busy doing service events this past semester and participated in many great new activities presented to the brotherhood by Eliana. Not only did we continue to participate in roadside service and held parties at Blessed Hearts Nursing Home, we participated in a “Science Fair Buddies” program at Buies Creek Elementary where we helped students with their science fair projects and helped clear land and build enclosures with Carolina Tiger Rescue. Delta Lambda also participated in this year’s
Relay for Life as a part of the CUCPHS team. We had an Austin Powers themed tent and were in charge of grilling hamburgers. We also participated in the annual CUCPHS health fair with a booth entitled “Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention”. We look forward to being involved with the community even more next semester!

The “Kappa Psi House” Brothers of Delta Lambda are excited to be moving into their new house on the campus of Campbell University and are looking forward to creating new memories and pledge events in the years to come. Inspired by the stories and memories of Delta Lambda's previous house passed down by older Brothers, Ashley McCallister and Jennifer Wilson, together with Dr. Michael Adams, Delta Lambda's GCD, developed and submitted a house proposal to the university, which was approved during the spring semester. The chapter plans to throw a painting party with the Buies Creek Graduate Chapter to prepare the house for the upcoming fall semester. An Open House event will also be held at the beginning of the fall semester to celebrate and introduce Delta Lambda's new home. The first Brothers to reside in the house will be Brad McNeill, Sam Eberwein, and Pledgemaster Riley Bowers.

Formal Formal was planned by Taylor Wolfe this year and was held in Wilmington, NC. We had a great dinner at Riverboat Landing downtown, following by tons of fun, dancing and the making of memories. Superlatives were given out to the brothers ranging from “Most Likely to Brighten Your Day” to “Most Kappa Psi Spirit” and “Biggest Flirt”. All 2012 pledges were awarded superlatives by the 2012 Pledgemaster, Andrew Gosnell, and 2012 officers were recognized by 2012 Regent John Owen, who was also awarded “Brother of the Year”. Spring Rush Our spring rush events this semester were a great success! Our first rush event was the annual Interfraternity Council Potluck, which had a huge turn out and tons of great food! For our second rush event, Brandy and Eliana organized a care package party for troops stationed in Afghanistan. Brothers spent the afternoon making cards of appreciation and packaged them in large boxes with coffee, candy and other goodies not readily available overseas. Our third rush event was a Kappa Psi take on the classic “Field Day and included events such as sack racing and egg toss. We were lucky to attract two amazing pledges that were are now honored to call our brothers!

Atlantic Province Winter Conclave This semester had an exciting start for the brothers of Delta Lambda as we kicked it off by hosting the Atlantic Province Winter Conclave and concurrently celebrating our 25th anniversary. Brothers had to battle abnormally wintery weather to arrive in Buies Creek, but the ice didn’t slow us down - one hundred sixtyfive brothers were in attendance. The weekend started
with a Friday evening out at County Seat Sports Grille, and the formal province meeting took place Saturday morning on Campbell University campus. Saturday night was spent at The Regency, with an upscale casino -themed banquet. Kali Weaver, Eric Gupta, Johnny Wong and Latha Radhakrishnan were all in attendance.
