Argentina Embrace our Diversity
The Argentina “Tango” Pavilion is bringing Argentina to Winnipeg yet again. We have celebrated many years of success due to dedicated volunteers and the visitors who attend year after year to celebrate our beautiful and diverse culture. It is the enthusiasm of our visitors and Folk Arts Council that motivate and energize us to keep up our hard work and keep our Pavilion fresh and exciting.

Entertainment New this year is an amazingly talented group from Argentina, “Malon del Sur” which will perform the Malambo and the Tango. Eduardo Rodriguez, a member of the group is also a performer for Cirque de Soleil, we look forward to having them with us for the week of Folklorama.
Malon del Sur
This amazing group will finish the show and leave you at the edge of your seat: Veronica Aquino, Sandra Ferreyra, Hector Ramirez and Eduardo Rodriguez. They will perform the Tango and the Malambo like you have never seen before...excitement will peak with the haunting sounds of the “bombo” (drum) drumming to the beat of the “boleadoras” (hunting lasso with two stones on its ends) with the traditional Malambo and things will definitely heat up when they perform the classic Argentine Tango... two very different dances but equally mesmerizing.
Winnipeg Tango Ensemble
This group of local Argentinean musical talents will bring music to life: Eleonora Caporalini, Marcelo Finkielsztein, Patricia Gervai, Jorge Kaprirca, Guillermo Ocejo & Special Guest from Argentina, Francisco (Pato) Vitali. Vitali comes from a family of traditional Bandoneon players and will share his extraordinary talent of playing the Bandoneon.
Their Tango rendition will take you to the streets of Buenos Aires (well, as close as you can get without a long flight) and feel the rhythm of the real Argentine Tango.
Las Gauchitas
The night will begin with our dynamic local dance ensemble... Las Gauchitas, consisting of sixteen girls of Argentinean descent. They will WOW you with their performance of a traditional Argentinean dance, Carnavalito.
Debbie Eismendi
When was the last time you listened to “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”? You will never forget the amazing voice and outstanding performance Debbie will amaze us with.
MC Introduction
Guiding you through the night with energy and enthusiasm...our always passionate, Vince Gabriele.
