Light
Trondheim at “night” June 4, 2008 by burpeeh
I didn’t get much sleep in Trondheim — I was really curious how much light there would be at 63 degrees N latitude at the beginning of June. Sunset was officially at 11:24 PM and sunrise at 3:10 AM but, the sky never got dark. Not quite midnight sun, but close! Amazing.

The concept of the pavilion centers on the impact of natural resources and energy on humans as well as the relationship between urban and rural areas.
With most of
Norwegian cities being close to the sea, forests, or mountains, the country will demonstrate through the pavilion how these cities incorporate nature to improve the quality of life of their inhabitants.
LOCAL materials that reflect the historic use but also the rather simple way, easily perceived or understood, clear or apparent, as could be refered to as a scandinavian style
Face Trondheim has many pleasant and quite different neighbourhoods. In the centre of town you'll find the special wooden houses of Bakklandet, terraced flats along Nidelven and the classic wooden town houses from the 17th and 18th centuries.

It was interesting to talk with her professor from the facilities, schools, and health. I like that combination. For more discussion on that topic, visit my Valle site here. It is also an interesting connection to see these facilities after the work that I’ve done at the daylighting lab and our emphasis on daylit gyms. See more on Katie’s blog here.
