HAVAS ADVERTISING SPORT 2001 - 2004 Part of the Havas Advertising Group which was the world’s 6th ranked group in communications consulting. Present in 75 countries, employing 14,400 people and generating revenues of 1,500 million euros. International Business Development and acting Managing Director of Havas Advertising Sports Benelux: • Consultancy strategic and operational advice to (international) companies to optimize and leverage their sponsorships as part of their overall communication strategy •
Sales of marketing & TV rights (including corporate hospitality) on behalf of Federations, teams or event organizers. Overall responsible for marketing & sales of all commercial rights of the football clubs Standard de Liege and Royal Antwerp FC from 2001- 2003.
UEFA EURO 2004 • Project management UEFA Trophy Tour in Portugal (20 cities, 62 operational days). UEFA’s representative for public functions in the Host Cities. • Operational director of the UEFA EURO 2004 Fan Park in Lisbon, including final responsibility for implementation, safety & security, ticketing and accreditation. Managed over 250 staff over a 6 weeks period.
Special note: for the UEFA Fan Park the highest security level was applicable because of potential hooliganism and a bomb threat issued by the Portugese authorities following the terrorist attack in Madrid.
2005 FIFA WORLD YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS
Consultant to FIFA (Marketing & Television) for the FIFA World Youth Championship in The Netherlands. • General co-ordination between FIFA and LOC for all marketing and commercial issues. • Venue manager Utrecht (City of the Final).
2007 UEFA U21 Member Management Team Organizing Committee of the UEFA U21. Responsible for: - Commercial affairs - Delivery of marketing rights of sponsors - Hospitality (commercial concept plus delivery of hospitality service during all matches) - Organizing Side Events in Host Cities, including UEFA Promotion Tour - Organizing match-time promotion, including pre- & after match concerts - Negotiation of hotel arrangements for all officials and participating teams
