I am currently working as an architect in Estudio Vázquez Consuegra, an architectural firm located in Seville with experience in heritage, cultural and international projects and competitions. This background has taught me how to work on large-scale projects and now I seek to take a further step in an architectural design office. In the Architecture Office of Guillermo Vazquez Consuegra I collaborated closely in phases of implementation and project management of several projects. This includes different tasks, from those most related to graphic expression (such as 3D modelling and the subsequent axonometric of a housing refurbishment) to details, furniture and industrial design. These latest tasks performed in projects of considerable importance, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg (former Courthouse of the city) or the new CaixaForum in Seville, located inside one of the buildings at the foot of the Tower Seville.
MASTERP LAN AND P UBLIC SPAC E INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION VALLEY OF LIFE, ISTANBUL Estudio Vazquez Consuegra and Grupo Aranea , 2016. Finalists From March to May 2016 I collaborated in the proposal developed for Valley of Life International Competition, restricted to 5 teams composed of several architectural firms. In our case, we participated together with Grupo Aranea. The main objective was to develop a masterplan in BeylikdĂźzĂź district, in Istanbul, with an intervention area of 240 hectares. We came up up with an innovative and sustainable idea that attempted to respond to a series needs that are present in the area. Therefore, it was essential to work at different levels, considering interventions ranging from residential buildings to public spaces and a waterfront. We decided to create a series of roads of twisted geometry that go over the Valley in all its directions, merging into the buildings that we suggest and allowing the existence of vast green spaces and facilities that adapt to the topography. In terms of construction, we considered the existence of different types depending on the environment and the preexistence of the area, always trying to get to create a city that maintain the natural character of the Valley.

S OCIAL HO USI NG INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION, WOLFSBURG Estudio Vazquez Consuegra, 2016. Finalists
Located on the site where currently stands an apartment building designed by Paul Baumgarten, the project has to fulfill strict conditions in regards to the different apartment tipologies and areas required by the organization. On the other hand, we had freedom in relation to the strategy of urban implementation. Thus, the idea of layout three towers of different heights allowed us to have more public space and a parking area. The “double façade” in conjunction with the materials chosen give the towers a very characteristic appearance, establishing themselves as a landmark in the area.
HE RITAGE P RO MOTI O N SANTA MARIA OLD QUARTER Medina Sidonia, 2015
As a work for the Master’s Degree in Architecture and Historical Heritage we had to make a project to promote the important cultural and architectural heritage present in the town of Medina Sidonia, in Cádiz. We could choose the area we thought was in need of some actions to attract visitors and tourism, so we decided to focus or effort in the quarter of Santa María, considering it has a very interesting past and remains of older civilizations such as Romans or Muslims. Consequently, we built a strategy based on a series of initiatives like a proper signage of the different elements, a tourist guide or a three-part document to indicate the historic landmarks that lies in the area.

The sea as symbol of purity and freedom, source of inspiration. With that in mind, we chose an astounding location in Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz. Next to the ruins of an old stronghold we decided to establish a refugee for artist, a place where they could create and even use the heritage as an exposition zone. We placed the building with public areas attached to the walls of the fortress, creating spaces and volumnes at different heights using structures hanging from the ceilling, and making circulation across different levels with ramps. For artist’ studios, to provide them with the loneliness they need to produce, we take advantage of the tides of the shore, wich had the unique characteristic of making the land appears or not, depending of the time. When the rocks show up in the surface, all the coast could be used as a huge “living room”.

STUD ENT HO USI NG FINAL DEGREE PROJECT Cordoba, 2014
As my Final Degree Project I choose a Student Residence in Cรณrdoba. With an important university and a big community of students from diverse locations, a building of this kind was a necessity. The site had a difficult geometry, with three faรงades facing different streets and the presence of party walls from surrounding buildings. With this factors, I came up with the idea of organising the project around an open space, which has a peculiar shape to avoid the configuration imposed by the plot. The corner facing the main avenue is treated almost as a statue, creating an interesting figure based on works from sculptors such as Chillida. Additionally, the rooms are based on the concepts of adaptability and flexibility, thus becoming spaces which can adapt to many situations depending on the necessity of its inhabitants. Above all, the project search the interaction and relationships between the students.

T IM BE R CO NSTRUCTI O N TRADITIONAL BOAT BUILDING FACTORY Seville, 2011
Traditional boat building in considered as an important part of the heritage and history of the town of Coria del RĂo, in Seville. With the idea of creating a space which could reflect in its outside the references to the activity inside, we focused in the use of wooden materials in the whole project. We came up with a structure frame made of different pieces with a distinctive shape. It exists also, as a middle floor, a platform suspended from above and an inverted truss. Overall, we paid special attention to the election of the materials, the basic idea of the project and the design of all the details needed for the correct construction of the building.
