Led by 1-2 Editors, 2-3 journalists will be working with the new concept of EYP journalism, moving away from the printed and written aspects, focusing primarily on digital and multimedia elements. The wish of the Editors and the Head Organisers is that the output will be mostly visual, for example photo and video, as well as the possibility of interactive video projects or photo campaigns, or other creative project with the delegates at the session. The role of the Media Team at the session is to facilitate for an extra element of companionship amongst delegates and session officials, shaping memories to last, and setting the new standard for how a Swedish Regional Session impacts its participants. UMEĂ… A Regional Session is the first encounter with EYP, if not with political activity in general, for many promising young minds, and this year, for the first time in history, the Regional Sessions of EYP Sweden will have a Media Team to make this encounter as memorable as can be. What exactly can a Media Team do to accomplish that? What is the role of such a team? Essentially, the Media Team will be responsible for session coverage, documenting each section of the session, thereby securing the curing of the burning yearning for reliving the thrilling experience. The focus will therefore be primarily on visual coverage, photography and video, in order to capture all the important moments and allow the participants to witness their own impact on the session. We will be producing promotional material, as well as provide entertainment and memories. Considering the age we live in, the easiest way to do that is by taking advantage of social media. Taking it by storm, we shall wreak a tagging havoc, since that best extends the forgetting curve to the length of never. We want people to always remember the session and their presence at it. Who are we looking for? Whom do we want on the team? We encourage everyone who is curious about the position of journalist at this RS and feels creative enough to fulfil its purpose to apply to this session. We hope to attract people eager to set their ideas roam free, to learn a new skill, and to further their activity in EYP. Both experienced and prospective first-time officials are welcome to apply, regardless of their nationality.

MALMÖ In the 1960s the American Navy popularised the phrase “Keep It Simple, Stupid”. Such a philosophy drives our vision for Malmo. However, far from indicating stupidity, the ability to reduce the complicated down to a simple form, and retain quality, is quite the skill. When it comes to skills, however, we don’t expect our applicants to have any that pertain to media. Of course, having them is no disadvantage, but nor is being completely inept with a camera. Our vision sees us starting from the ground up, and making sure we do things right all the way to the top. At this regional session we will be doing that by concentrating our focus on to the core components of session media: photography and video. We’re going to take what we do, and do it well. We aim to achieve this by offering to our media team members two things: 1. Commitment to pre-preparation: as soon as selection has taken place, preparation for the session will begin. Communication will be consistent, with brainstorming sessions taking place in the run up to the session. These sessions will inform any output that the team desires to generate beyond the conventional. Reasonable deadlines will be met, with support wherever necessary. 2. Trainings: with extensive experience in the field of media, we hope to offer you training that will equip you for this and future media endeavours. This will take place before the session, in the form of question and answer sessions, as well as through online resources provided. Any concerns you may have about lack of experience will be allayed. Our team will be small, but it will be solid, and the same can be said for our output. By focussing like this, we hope to assist in the setting of a benchmark for media at EYP sessions, and we’re looking for a group of individuals eager to join us in that.

GÖTEB ORG Welcome to the vibrant and picturesque Gothenburg, where one of European Youth Parliament of Sweden session will be held on the 22nd and 23rd November. Inspired by the city’s panorama where old meets new, during this session, we will discover new concepts and use something well forgotten from the 90’s. As we all know, journalism is not all about writing, thus the media team will be focusing on different activities such as making playlists, surveying and organising worthy events for delegates and themselves. Jump out of the box, start thinking, doing, learning, impacting and participating let’s make the session EPIC together!

STO CKHOLM We strongly believe in the value of EYP as an educational project, as an opportunity for personal development. We really want to highlight and define these elements of development within our work; providing an insight into exactly how, and why EYP is such a unique, and memorable experience for those that take part. EYP Media teams are often seen as a way to solidify the memories associated with the event; we want our team to help each participant realise just what they’ve learnt, and how they’ve developed as a result of their involvement in the experience. This is especially true at a Regional Session – delegates often begin their involvement having no idea what to expect, feeling nerves and apprehension – we want our team to capture their progression as they move through the processes of bonding, learning, and achievement, providing an output which will only seek to enhance their memories. We also want to help develop the academic material at the Session – framing the topic material in unique ways, with our team encouraging delegates to facilitate the learning of others by taking a proactive role in the sharing of their topic through media during committee work. Why should you apply to join us? If you want to be a part of a team that places its focus on development – of itself, and those it documents, then we’d love for you to join us in Stockholm this November. We’d love the chance to be able to work with people who want to learn, whilst also wanting to help others do the same. If you feel like you’ve gained something from your involvement in EYP, and you want to help others begin that journey of self-development, we’d love for you to help us make that possible.
