A Letter from Joe
Boys,
Well, I just started writing this and my eyes are already wet. Let me start by first saying thank you. Over the last four years, this group has challenged me, this group has helped me grow, and this group has shaped me into the person I am today.
On the days it was tough, the Toccatatones were there. On the days I just wanted to give up, the Toccatatones were there. On the days I had no motivation, the Toccatatones were there. On the days I needed a good laugh, the Toccatatones were there.
When people ask me why I do acapella, it is always so hard to answer. The music? Yes. The performances? Yes. The memories? Yes. But the biggest reason is y'all.
Each of you has pushed me over the last four years to be a better person. You have pushed me to be a better leader. You have pushed me to learn more about myself. You have shaped me.
As I move on and graduate, let me leave you with a few things. On the days it is tough, support one another. On the days you want to give up, call on the group to lean on. On the days you need a good laugh, reach out to the boys. Be there for each other.
I love you all immensely. I'm proud of you.
Joe MaronskiA Letter from Justin
Dear T-tones,
I had the honor of leading the group in rehearsals during my senior year. Thank you for treating me like I knew what I was doing. I appreciate all the work and time you put in more than you know.
This group has been my favorite part of college and I know it’s the same for most, if not all, of you. Toccatatones is an extremely special group to be a part of, and I don’t want you to ever forget that. Cherish your time here and be conscious of how lucky we all are to share this experience.
While I think we’re lucky that Todd Owen Carter dreamed up this group for us, I also know that you’re in this group for a reason. You’re all the most talented, kind-hearted, and fun-loving people I’ve ever met. You deserve to be here and you deserve to keep having fun and making music for all four years.
I love all of you. Please remember to call.
