Center City Philadelphia’s center city is always full of life and something for you to do, whether that’s just walking around, grabbing food, shopping, or looking for entertainment. No matter what, if you are in the center city with an adventurous mindset you are going to enjoy your time there. Quoted by philadelphiaencyclopedia.org, Philadelphia’s seventeenth-century founding, Center City has been a continually evolving experiment in urban living and management. Founded by William Penn, Center city is about 2.3 square miles between the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers, and runs from Vine Street to South Street. Center cities main attractions at the moment would be the Reading Terminal Market, Dilworth Park, Fashion District Philadelphia, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art 2 Philly Weekly| Spring Street Photography

While walking in Center City, depending on what direction you are going there is a good chance you will walk into a complete shift in culture. That shift in culture is symbolized the beautiful Friendship Gate that resides on 10th and Arch St. As soon as you walk through that gate, you walk into a whole new city that is not like any other part of philly. According to www.visitphilly.com Chinatown stretches from Arch Street to Vine Street, and from 11th street to 8th Street. The restaurants and stores within the town represent Hong Kong, Cantonese, Fujianese, Northern Sichuan and Taiwanese cultures, with a hint of Korean, Thai, Malaysian, Burmese, and Vietnamese. The residents of Chinatown display their culture in the most beautiful way possible with the visually appealing art, an abundance of shops, and seasonal street festivals. 12 Philly Weekly| Spring Street Photography

South St If I had to describe South Street with one word it would be thing you notice when you take a walk down the street. From the murals and artwork on the sides of of houses connected in the row of homes the vibrant South Street is a visually satisfying place to visit. South street is a popular hangout area for teens and college students with its assortment of bars, takeout eateries, gift shops, and retailers catering to hip hop fashion, punk fashion, and/or urban culture. The Theatre of Living Arts is also on this street and holds concerts for many well known artists. A night at The Theatre of Living Arts does not end when the performance is over you can go right across the street to Jims and get one of their cites famous cheesesteaks

North

Philadelphia

North Philadelphia, like the other parts of the city, is very different from all things south of it. Center City and South Philly have been displaying how genover the years but North Philly still has its organic and griddy ti is one thing that is displayed throughout North Philly and in my opinion is what visually makes the scene. With the dirt ners claiming they have the best Cheesesteaks You can immediately tell you are in North Philly. A man doing a wheelie down N Broad on a dirt bike. Apr 20, 2022.
