Textile Dyes
Printer Inks Are Used for Textile Industries Technology has made it possible for us to print on textiles using large format printers these days. Because of these developments, textile printing has opened new avenues to the time of printing and is widely used in the fields of fashion, interior design, engineering, military and other fields. However, as there are many different types of fabrics used in textile printing, there are many different printer inks used in printing on fabrics. These printer inks are designed to bind with the fibers of the textile industry so that the resulting printout would have a high level of quality and durability. Pigments Dyes Below is a list of some of the types of printer inks used for textile printing with large format: 1. Acid dye inks. Acid dye printer inks are mainly for fabrics made from animal protein fibers such as wool, mohair and silk. The basis for the acid dye inks is either acetic acid or citric acid. Acid dye can be toxic and should be used with utmost care. 2. Disperse dyes. Disperse dyes are used for printing on synthetic fibers such as acrylic, polyester and nylon. Disperse dyes are called such because they require a dispersing agent to spread the dye onto the fabric. High temperatures are usually required to work for disperse dyes. 3. Textile pigment ink. Pigmented inks are textile printer mostly for printing on cotton. They are known for their durability though they are not as good with the provision of the colors compared to dye inks. However, new types of textiles pigmented inks that come on the market lately are producing colors that are almost comparable to those produced by dye inks. 4. Reactive dye inks. Reactive dye inks are used for printing on fabrics of cellulose or plant origin such as cotton and linen. Heat is a major component in the textile printing with reactive dyes , but frees the colors in the dye and the dye is attached to the fabric . 5. Textile UV curing inks. UV- curable textile functions in a variety of tissues. The printing process involves exposing the printer ink to ultraviolet light or dry while it heals. The UV light brings out the colors of the ink cartridges without releasing volatile organic compounds or VOCs in the environment.
6. Dye sublimation inks. Sublimation inks are popularly used in various print media, not only the fabric. Dye sublimation textile printing works similar to the thermal printing in which heat is used to transform the printer ink from its solid state before it can be bound to the fibers of the fabric medium so. However, the sublimation process bypasses the liquid state; ink "melts" from the solid state to a gaseous state and then solidified on the fabric. Vat Dyes These are the common printer inks used for textile printing with large format printers . Different types of printer inks because these inks only work with certain fabrics and certain specific results usually expected that a certain combination of fabric ink . This makes the work exciting textile printing . Apex Dye Stuff includes broad ranges in Disperse Dyes and Reactive Dyes.
