TEN GREAT LESSONS FROM MILLENNIAL ENTREPRENEURS-JOSH MADRID

Josh Madrid provides you with ten essential lessons from millennial entrepreneurs. These are lessons from entrepreneurs like himself and others in the present generation. The first lesson is if you are good at something at a young age, pursue the thing and work on it consistently. An excellent example of this lesson is from George Matus, who started flying drones at the age of 12. He loved it so much he started modifying drones and building his own. He published videos of his exploits on YouTube and convinced drone makers to let him be a tester. After six years of working on Drones, he now has his own Peter Thiel funded company making drones. Another lesson is you should take advantage of trends while they are hot; it does not matter if a trend is going to be long-lasting or not. If you are willing to jump in and help push the trend along you must take advantage while they are hot. For instance, when the bitcoin emerged in the market, very

The next lesson is there has never been a better time to be self-promoter; with the modern web technologies, everyone can claim to be great at anything. There are so few legitimate ways to measure quality and results when it comes to anything on the web that if you say it enough, and find enough testimonials, you can be very convincing. Josh himself is an excellent example in this lesson as he has built on seemingly nothing more than a lifestyle, and he has never created a profitable business selling anything physical but digital. You should also use social media exhaustively; over communicate and use all medial social platforms to let people know your value and your message. These platforms are cheap and hard work there can make up for a few dollars. Take significant risks and if something fails, never call it a failure, just a learning experience you have moved beyond. Another lesson does not try to improve something that already exists; instead, come up with something new. Come up with a new app, or a site focused on selling collectable sneaker or something you want to sell. Use hypes and announce that your next thing is going to be huge. Do not be deterred by feeling the need to prove any of your claims, just make big claims with tremendous bravado.

Taking credit for anything that goes right is also a must-have lesson. There is no entrepreneur ever said they were lucky; whatever went right was always due to their inherent insight and skills, so talk in platitudes. If you want to succeed, you must live your own life and believe yourself. Employers and education cannot be trusted much, trust yourself. Self-education is better than schools. You can learn more on YouTube than in any classroom. Teachers are nay-sayers. Do what you are passionate about and be smarter and better than older people; millennials are unique and smarter. Finally, life is not a one-round fight; life is full of hurdles, and you must be consistent in your fight against these hurdles. Life has a way of throwing many derailing curves into everyone’s path so you must be stubborn and consistent.
